Daily affirmations can help us develop positive thinking, which can be hard to do when you're exhausted from a flare. If affirmations feel strange to you, tryin putting the phase, "I'm learning to..." in front of the statement i.e."I am learning to love myself."

@GIdietitian at #AIBD2022 highlights that ~75% of IBD patients in remission and ~90% of IBD patients in a flare restrict their diet. Rephrasing "what can I take out" to "what can we add in" is key.

@ibddocmaria reminds us that you generate higher drug levels giving IFX 5mg/kg q4w than 10mg/kg q8w
If you need higher levels ⬆️ frequency > ⬆️ dose
In someone who is loosing response I do both

Monitoring micronutrients and correcting deficiencies is clinically important in #IBD care:
-vitamin D, B12
-zinc, iron
Anemia, the most common EIM in IBD, is often overlooked and under treated (even when we know the cause!)

Check out Gary Lichtenstein, MD, of @PennMedicine recapping his presentation from yesterday morning at #AIBD2021 on micronutrient deficiencies in #IBD!

She discusses the possibility of an IBD phenotype that responds to dietary therapy, and how we should see response as early as 3-weeks after beginning dietary therapies. Close monitoring is 🔑
