Nigerians don't want to pay taxes, but they pay indirect taxes on almost every item.
They pay subsidies on diesel, kerosene, and even petrol
They take federal government loans to afford basic education and pay millions for secondary and primary education
They borrow money, and rely on crowdfunding when they are sick, or pray to God for miraculous healing.
They pay Agbero taxes and toll fees every day just to access basic roads.
They cope with high inflation and could barely eat 3 reasonable meals in a day
They buy solar systems, generators, and fuel for electricity, while they still pay TV taxes.
They pay gatemen and security officers to protect their houses and properties.
They will still come out once a month to participate in sanitation exercises, while the leaders go out with a convoy of over 40 vehicles to cut ribbon for a 2-kilometre road.
But anytime they try to hold their government responsible and accountable for the most basic amenities, people like you always come along to gaslight them 💔💔💔
Unrelated, but I love using this oil for making sauce. My uncle came to my new apartment last weekend to pray for me.
I brought out my only bottle of this oil to be used for the prayers, knowing fully well that I will still use it to fry stew later. 😭😭

I hate how someone can go from loving you so deeply to acting like you never meant anything to them. I hate the dark space breakups put you in, that quiet, heavy place where everything feels off and you’re left trying to piece yourself back together. I hate how you can lose yourself trying to understand what changed, replaying moments, words, memories, wondering when it stopped being real for them but stayed real for you.
What’s even more painful is how easy it is for some people to come into your life, build something with you, share intimacy, laughter, plans only to later treat it like it was nothing. People forget that emotional attachment is real. That hearts don’t just “reset” because someone decides to leave. Breakup pain is not small; it can shake someone’s self-worth, their trust, their peace, and for some people, it can push them into very dark mental spaces.
I just wish more people understood the weight of what they carry when they involve themselves in someone’s emotions. I hope people who are capable of real, intentional love find each other, and the ones who play with hearts stay far away from those who feel deeply.
Because breakups don’t just “hurt.”
They break you open in ways you don’t expect.

Not buying? A simple reshare will mean so much and help my business reach the right people 🙏🏽🥹💕

Negotiations for salary review reopened with me yesterday 🥹🥹.
I have a cr@zy plot twist. I recently requested a raise at work, and started looking for alternatives when my request was declined.
A senior staff walked in on me having an interview, sat there and listened. After the interview, told me she was impressed and offered me a job.

I had a massive reality check last night about how Instagram is actively destroying long-term relationships by convincing us that love is supposed to be a 24/7 "soft life" aesthetic.
It was late, the apartment was stifling, and the power had randomly tripped. I was lying in the dark, scrolling through IG, watching a reel of some influencer getting surprised with a Cartier bracelet and a baecation. The caption was: “Never settle for less.”
Honestly, I let the internet poison my mind for a second. That familiar, creeping panic started settling in. I started wondering if my own relationship had lost the "spark" because we hadn’t done any grand romantic gestures lately. We were basically just splitting the crushing weight of adulthood.
Then I looked over at my man. There was no curated aesthetic. No cinematic background music. He was completely exhausted from his own day, but there he was, sitting on the bare floor in the dark, using his phone flashlight to help me count and sort out my ID Vogue orders so my morning deliveries wouldn't be delayed.
The entire Instagram illusion just shattered for me.
Social media has gaslit us into believing that if a relationship isn’t actively triggering your anxiety with constant highs and butterflies, it’s "dead." We mistake peace for boredom. We want a burning fire, completely forgetting that fires eventually burn the house down.
The harsh truth? Most long-term relationships aren't held together by overwhelming passion. They are held together by a VOW to look at each other in the middle of a brutal economy and say, "I am not going to let you drown today."
The internet will call that "settling." But the internet doesn't know a damn thing about what it actually takes to keep the water out and the house warm when things get dark. Stop letting a 60-second PR campaign ruin your real life.
