I'd flip this statement, only CFB fans understand what made CFB different from all these others.
That's entirely the point.
Everyone is so hell bent on making CFB like everything else when its uniqueness was a lot of what made it special.

The 24-team playoff removes all meaning from the games. There will be no stakes anymore. Trying to go 12-0 as an elite team will become counterproductive, teams will coast and “load manage,” not sweat dropping a few games, then enter the CFP 9-3 fresh and ready to go
CFP leaders are closer than ever to expanding to a 24-team playoff. They are talking buyouts of conference title games and scheduling logistics of doubling the field.
