Rio, thank you. 🇧🇷❤️ AIDS 2026 was a powerful reminder of what happens when science, community and lived experience come together. Proud to celebrate 10 years of #UequalsU and help keep the momentum going. The conference ends. The work continues. #AIDS2026 #PLHIVLeadersNow

Three people. Three U=U tattoos. One life-changing message. At #AIDS2026 in Rio, it was an honour to stand with Shari Margolese (CanCURE) and Trevor Stratton (CAAN). Tattoos fade. Science doesn’t. U=U saves lives, ends stigma, and changes conversations. #UequalsU #PLHIVLeadersNow

Science has changed HIV. Stigma has not. As someone living with HIV, I know the virus was never the hardest part. Misinformation and judgement remain barriers to health, dignity, and equity. Let’s end both. #ZeroHIVStigmaDay #UnitedTowardsZero #UequalsU #PLHIVLeadersNow

#LIVING2026 is convened by @gnpplus & @PreventionAC, marking ten years of Undetectable = Untransmittable (U=U). This milestone celebrates the remarkable scientific progress in treatment as prevention (TasP) and its transformative impact on research, innovation, quality of life for people living with HIV and HIV prevention. The pre-conference will bring together PLHIV leaders, policymakers, funders, researchers, and allies to examine the current transitions shaping the global HIV response and to collectively chart a coordinated, future-focused agenda. In the opening speech at the UN Multistakeholder hearing on HIV and AIDS #UNMSH that happened in May 2026, one of the critical asks from @gnpplus was clear: PLHIV demand uninterrupted, affordable, and stigma-free treatment for every person living with HIV which includes long-acting options & continued investment in cure and vaccine research. “Quality of life must become a core outcome of HIV treatment.” This means we move from celebrating access to treatment as the only measure of success to ensuring access to quality lifesaving treatment. As governments gather for the High-Level Meeting on 22–23 June, we urge their commitment to ensuring access to treatment, viral suppression and quality of life for ALL people Living with HIV and steadfast commitment to ending new HIV infections towards HIV epidemic control. GNP+ and the global PLHIV community will continue to lead on this demand. #UNHLM2026 #PLHIVLeadersNow @floriako @SboNkosiZA

Canada’s latest HIV surveillance report shows a slight decline in HIV diagnoses. That’s encouraging, but numbers only tell part of the story. My latest blog explores what surveillance data can reveal and what it leaves unseen theaccidentalhivactivist.sub… #UequalsU #PLHIVLeadersNow

U=U means HIV is not sexually transmitted when someone is undetectable. So why are we still using phrases like “effectively zero”? theaccidentalhivactivist.sub… New blog on U=U, stigma, and why our language needs to catch up with the science. #UequalsU #ScienceNotStigma #EndHIVStigma

In 2018, after watching Bohemian Rhapsody, I created this image about how people living with HIV are too often measured by stigma instead of humanity. More than 7 years later, the message still stands. U=U changed the science. Now we need universal access. #UequalsU #SayZero

On 17th May 2026, GNP+ invites us to honour the leadership, courage, and resilience of #PLHIV across generations in the #AIDSCandlelightMemorial with the theme "Light the Legacy. Remember. Advance. Act." Marked every 3rd Sunday of May since 1983, this powerful day is about remembering those we've lost to AIDS, celebrating the strength of those who continue to fight for treatment and quality of life for all #PLHIV and taking action to move forward with courage to #endAIDS deaths, stop HIV infections and achieve epidemic control.

Manitoba’s HIV emergency should concern all of Canada. Not because HIV is untreatable. Because stigma and gaps in testing, prevention, treatment, and care still shape outcomes. My latest blog looks at why U=U must stay central. theaccidentalhivactivist.sub… #UequalsU
