THIS WAS AGENCY DINNER AMSTERDAM.
THIS HAS BEEN THE BEST DINNER TO DATE. PERIOD.
Together with Rajhen Ramoutar founder of the charity, we brought together 26 high-growth DTC and B2B agency founders for a dinner with a bigger purpose behind it.
Yes, we talked about growth, AI, leadership, hiring, delivery, scaling.
But the evening was organised in support of children with cancer, and Iām genuinely grateful to everyone who attended, contributed, donated and helped us make it happen.
We also had my good friend Mike Kolev join us for a fireside chat.
Mike is CEO & Co-owner of Carbon Box Media, Carbon AI, Visible & Advertisable, and has built businesses generating around $700k/month.
Kristina Radeva my partner in crime, who made sure every detail was handled to the highest possible standard.
These dinners look effortless when you attend them. They are absolutely NOT effortless to organise.
Without her, none of this would happen at the level it does.
Mandarin Oriental Conservatorium Amsterdam for partnering with us, supporting the evening, and contributing directly to the charity.
Having a venue of that level get behind the cause made the night even more special.
Massive thank you to everyone who joined us in Amsterdam.
You made the room what it was. ā¤ļø

I had 3 discovery calls this week.
2 turned into clients, but all 3 asked me the same question.
"Are you going to be working directly on my account?"
And the answer is no, i'm not.
And you don't want me to.
However I will orchestrate what happens on your account and coordinate systems and the team weekly.
I have a team of 5 allocated to scaling my clientās businesses on a daily basis.
@AdamKitchen_co talks about this regularly but if the founder of an agency is working directly on the DAY TO DAY of your account.
Itās usually for these reasons:
1-They are a freelancer in disguise as an agency, e.g. Founder with a VA.
2-They are a tiny agency with under 10 clients.
Either way, you're likely dealing with a beginner.
You want the owner running the business, coordinating systems and managing people to get you results.
Not building your next email campaign.

Here's a little something different for your Sunday arvo social pleasure...
My good mate @AdamKitchen_co has an amazing Podcast called: 'Creator Journeys' and he recently hosted me for a deep dive session into my 10+ year odyssey as a creator in the eCommerce space and how it has led to me spending 8+ hours every week on content alone.
Adam has a very natural way of leading these conversations and he pulled info out of me I don't think I've shared anywhere else before.
Check out the Episode on YT - hopefully it helps spur some of you to kick your content and personal brand game up a notch.

Today I'm excited to unveil my new company: Grocers List.
A commerce platform for food creators and the brands that sell through them.
Tools that drive creator growth, and capture the insane intent behind recipe audiences.
After Privy got acquired, I never thought Iād do it again, but Iām having a blast with my cofounder Mike, @EvelynHartz (we all worked together at Privy) and a few other amazing teammates (announcing soon).
Thank you to @dafrankel , @epaley and the entire @fcollective team, along with @fundatoris, David and the @ImpellentVC team, @bzises and @mvolpe for blindly backing us in our initial $1M round of funding.
We're bringing everything we learned around marketing + commerce from Privy/Shopify into a massive vertical of spend that desperately needs innovation.
And the market has responded quickly :)
Food creators are loving our first few products, ācomment for recipeā, āsave recipe to emailā and "Shop the Recipeā¢".
Follow our IG account to stay up to date (@ grocerslist).

I'm only half kidding. And don't worry this won't be a Yotpo focused debate.
Should be very fun. Maybe a disaster. Entertaining at the least...

If you think that partnering up with the likes of Klaviyo, Salesforce & Hubspot is going to lead to an influx of leads for your agency, you're going to be sorely disappointed - here's a FAR superior way to generate leads from SaaS companies.
First, some background: in Q1 2024, Magnet Monster generated as many leads from tech partners as we did in the first 5 years of our existence.
We got tech partnerships woefully wrong in the past, but we've finally cracked the code.
For context, we have been a Klaviyo Elite Partner for a year, but a long-term advocate of the platform for over 4 years before that.
Know how many leads we've generated from Klaviyo prior to becoming an Elite Partner?
1.
But I don't blame them and I'm not bitter about this - there are THOUSANDS of agencies salivating for leads from Klaviyo and there isn't enough to go around and keep them happy.
This applies to all the big tech companies. So what should you do?
Partner up with upcoming, disruptive tech.
They're smaller, less bureaucratic, more eager to work with you, and need your support to grow.
The icing on the cake? You'll probably have a direct relationship with the CEO.
We've been focusing on finding these diamonds in the rough and building mutually beneficial partnerships for over 6 months now and it's paying off tremendously.
We are, of course, using our audience as leverage in these relationships (another reason to invest in content marketing if you aren't already).
And it's a great reason helping a smaller company to win as opposed to dealing with cumbersome tech giants that can't even collaborate to get a case study up on their website.
Try rooting for the underdog - it works š

Gift with Purchase >> Discounts
An interesting insight that we've gotten from three Shopify merchants all in the UK is that gifts with purchases are outperforming regular discounts in lifting conversion rates.

This is an emotional but incredible post for me to write: effective immediately, I am no longer the CEO of @MagnetMonsterUK. Hereās why Iām making this change and what comes next for our company š
For over 5 years, I poured every ounce of my soul into building this company. Whilst we all do this for money, for me, itās also been a personal mission to revolutionise the way email marketing is conducted in eCommerce.
Iāve had many goals during this period:
> Reach £20k in monthly revenue (I was ready to give up on this after a year in and quit)
> This then turned to £100k in monthly revenue
> Become a @klaviyo Elite Partner
> Successfully launch a course
> Become a leading speaker in the space
While we knocked all of these goals down one by one, something became far greater and more important than stroking my ego with personal accolades.
We had built an incredible team that was doing fantastic work that deserved much more acclaim - this has been my greatest achievement as a leader.
I wanted to transform the agency from "The Adam Kitchen Show" and put the spotlight on the team doing the real hard work in the trenches and prove things could operate without me.
And after releasing my course last year, I felt a level of satisfaction that had me wondering "What's next?".
Truth be told, I didnāt have the appetite for āgrowthā the same way I had in the past. I wanted to keep the company at a certain level and optimise our profitability.
But thereās one man whoās been by my side for 3 years now who had a stronger vision for the business that supersedes mine, and I canāt ignore that any longer.
Heās the hardest-working, most talented person Iāve ever worked alongside. And heās become the real leader and visionary of the company.
So today, Iām passing the mantle to @WiehanBritz.
Wiehan is the wartime leader every agency needs. He leads from the front, has resilience in abundance, and is the best executor of strategy in the business.
Heās been through the company in good times and bad and has dragged us through so many situations almost single-handedly at times.
And in the past 6 months, heās built the most incredible team who thrive off personal ownership, and refined our service delivery to such a high level that our client retention is off the charts.
Wiehan is also much stronger in an area than myself that I believe will be the next frontier of change in our industry: technology.
Heās a tech geek who loves nothing more than getting his hands dirty and driving innovation.
Wiehan, I could not have been more honoured to work alongside you these past few years, and fully believe in serving your vision as you drive us forward in this next chapter.
I'll share what's next for myself in the coming days and document 29 lessons I've learnt from growing Magnet Monster for the rest of the month.
But today is all about the legend that is Mr Britz - letās all wish him well on his next journey of growth!

Retention is not the new acquisition by any stretch of the imagination....
That being said, since Feb 1st a whole host of new changes have been forced on DTC brands. Many of these updates have meant that having your Klayvio account set up correctly is now more important than ever!
The next question begs,Ā āHow do I know if Iām set correctly?āĀ this can be a tricky one - weāre all busy doing 101 things every day but ignoring this after the most recent updates could be detrimental to your DTC brandĀ (and the email list that youāve worked so hard to build over the years)
