A debate about whether Gloucester is really a "rugby city" prompted me to write this.
For me, Gloucester Rugby has never been about postcodes. It's about community.

What if nobody working a full week ever had to rely on debt, food banks, welfare or charity just to cover the essentials?
That's the principle behind The Basic Living Standard:
A guarantee that earned income covers the real cost of living.
🧵👇
The Basic Living Standard proposes a people-first economic framework built around:
✅ Food
✅ Housing
✅ Utilities
✅ Healthcare
✅ Transport
✅ Clothing
✅ Communication
✅ Savings
The aim: financial independence through work, not dependency through necessity.
First discussed in Levelling Level (31 March 2022), the Basic Living Standard could provide the basis of a much fairer, balanced, people centric system.

Disappointing. But this might be the best match for this to happen. The real takeaway could be the learning and given the strength of the season so far, there’s good reason to be hopeful. Still 2nd in the Table! 🍒🏉
Saints away = a huge test, regardless of the Table. But this Gloucester side has shown it can compete with the best in 26/27. Match the attitude, intensity and belief weve seen so far, and theres good reason to be optimistic. Two top sides, one great game of rugby either way 🍒🏉
A fish doesn't see water because water is not an object within its environment. It IS the environment.
The same may be true of Britain's political class and explain why things are now becoming so challenging for us all.

Perhaps the deeper challenge lies in accepting the agency of others as equal to our own.

Twenty million households were offered support towards energy bills.
The remarkable thing wasn't the £100 payment.
It was that almost nobody found it remarkable.

Difficult to see this as anything other than a massive vote of confidence in what’s happening at Gloucester Rugby - and it’s brilliant news. Well done Glaws! 🍒🏉
Workers are struggling. Small businesses are struggling. Rather than asking which side is the problem, perhaps we should be asking what created the conditions hurting both.
