Chris, the sheer dishonesty here is staggering. You're deliberately portraying people who came here to work, often in our care sector, paying taxes and keeping essential services running, as some sort of benefits-seeking invasion!! (Perhaps that call is coming from within the house 👀) Stop exploiting foreign workers..use and throw away like toilet roll.
Later today the government will announce their u-turn on ILR, or Indefinite Leave to Remain. It’s clear Shabana Mahmood has been forced to surrender to Angela Rayner and the open-borders Labour left. She will now allow hundreds of thousands of low-wage and no-wage migrants to stay in the UK forever and claim benefits. By Mahmood’s own admission in a speech this March, letting low wage care workers alone stay forever will cost taxpayers £10 billion and be an “affront”. Now it looks likes she’s about to do exactly that. After talking tough all year, Mahmood appears to have capitulated control of immigration policy to Angela Rayner - and Mahmood’s position is looking increasingly untenable The Conservative plan is a ten year route to ILR, only for high wage workers. No more low wage workers shoud be allowed in, and those already here should be required to leave when their temporary work visa expires

So let me get this straight. Suella (Conservative Home Secretary 2022 - 2023) felt so strongly about the betrayal of the Boris Wave that she stood as a Conservative candidate in 2024 and then sat as a Conservative MP for a further 18 months before jumping ship. Stacks up 🤔
The Boriswave was the greatest betrayal by the last Conservative government. It’s why I left the Conservatives.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Braverman served as Attorney General under Johnson and Home Secretary 2022-23 amid the immigration surge called the Boriswave. She remained a Conservative until defecting to Reform in Jan 2026 after the 2024 election. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suella_Br… bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

A Syrian refugee came to Britain seeking safety. Eight years later, he risked his own life to save an 80-year-old British woman from drowning. His name is Samer Jouha. Remember it the next time someone tells you refugees have nothing to offer this country.

Still waiting for #bbclaurak to mention the #CovidInquiry and how her Tory chums killed 1000's of our elderly relatives. Or ask Badenoch about the £billions they robbed from British people to give to themselves and their VIP pals. #bbclaurak

I am the Wetherspoons area manager for this pub. I actually decided that England flags and Union Jacks are not allowed in any of our pubs. People should be allowed to drink in peace without having politics shoved down their throat.
Wetherspoons are a fucking DISGRACE!!

Zia Yusuf, let’s establish some facts before another declaration of national betrayal. Shabana Mahmood is an elected MP, appointed Home Secretary and accountable to Parliament. Jo White MP is the Minister for Migration and Citizenship, with direct responsibility for settlement reform. You, Mr Yusuf, are neither an MP nor a government minister. Your “Shadow Home Secretary” title comes from Reform UK. The actual Shadow Home Secretary in His Majesty’s Official Opposition is Chris Philp MP. Now, your concerns deserve scrutiny. You warn about the settlement of migrants who arrived during the post-Brexit immigration surge, the possibility of obtaining British citizenship, pressure on public finances and the consequences of weakening Mahmood’s reforms. These are legitimate subjects for parliamentary debate. But your argument has serious problems. First: Indefinite Leave to Remain is not a British passport. Permanent settlement and citizenship are legally distinct. Second: The Government’s proposed earned-settlement model raises the standard qualifying period from five to ten years, with additional conditions. Transitional protections were always part of the consultation. Third: You accuse Angela Rayner, Andy Burnham and Labour MPs of orchestrating a surrender before the final policy has even been announced. Where is your evidence? Fourth: You claim this will add hundreds of billions to Britain’s debt. Show us the independent fiscal assessment, assumptions and calculations supporting that figure. Finally: The immigration surge you call the “Boriswave” occurred under a Conservative government. That political responsibility cannot simply disappear when it becomes inconvenient. You are entitled to challenge immigration policy, Mr Yusuf. You are not entitled to present speculation as confirmed government action or financial projections without substantiation. Democratic accountability requires evidence, not just outrage. Criticise the policy. Scrutinise the ministers. But apply the same standard of evidence to your own claims.
Tomorrow Labour’s Home Secretary will announce she is conceding defeat to Angela Rayner. And the mad Labour backbench MPs. She will U-turn on her promise to stop the Boriswave settling and getting British passports. Burnham is betraying the people of Makerfield again. He promised not to water down Mahmood’s settlement reforms. The cost of this betrayal will be hundreds of billions added to Britain’s debt. British people again being betrayed in service of foreign nationals. We cannot go on like this. Reform will fight this betrayal with everything we have.

Would you rather give them to property millionaires?
We should not spend a single penny on reparations. Whatever Burnham wants to call them.

Kemi Badenough has just become a contrarian now. Saying the opposite to whatever Andy Burnham says just to try and look relevant. It's a bit silly, especially on the issue of slavery.
