Did you know that by integrating trees into agricultural landscapes, we can sequester carbon, improve soil health, enhance biodiversity, and provide farmers with extra income streams. Let's accelerate the adoption of agroforestry to create a more resilient and sustainable future.

And for those thinking the copper crunch also affects nuclear: yes, but
Two things that pop to mind when reading this: 1. The point wasn’t about availability. There’s indeed enough copper (let alone aluminium) to last us for many centuries. It’s however about our capacity to mine it.

Modern day Environmentalism has become little more than renewables industry PR and the greatest ally of the mining sector imaginable. Environmentalists rule out nuclear energy which has mining requirements 1/6 to 1/10th those of wind and solar and land footprints 100’s of times less.
I recently got to dive into the latest edition of @MotherJones, ft. cover art reminiscent of @TheEconomist from two weeks ago. A thread on some of my favorite articles and key takeaways

The “nuclear waste” label is propaganda. It is a resource. Used Fission Fuel is far more accurate. It still has 96% of its thermal energy potential. France reprocesses it and derives 10% of its fission energy from MOX fuel.

COAL IMMEDIATELY FILLS DEMAND IN GERMAN STATE CLOSING NUCLEAR In Baden-Wuerttemberg, Neckarwestheim, one of the best-performing reactors in the world, closed Saturday. Costly hard coal filled most of the gap. Russia remained Germany's top supplier of this type of coal in 2022.

It's hard to express how insane this situation is. Highlighting just wind production now, Germany's 66.5 GW of installed wind is only producing as much as the 3 reactors that turned off last night used to produce. 400% expansion of wind would only provide half present need!

Why did the UAE 🇦🇪 opt for nuclear? “It’s a simple economic question: when you look at nuclear it’s a very energy dense option”. Even in one of sunniest places on Earth ☀️ youtu.be/6vtc3fD_jvc

Just look at that! That's some excellent numbers from French nuclear and the combined output of their renewables. Amazing for their grid but even better for the rest of Europe. Currently supplying over 12GW to various countries. #nuclear #CleanEnergy

Small nuclear reactors can provide reliable low-cost clean energy 24/7 for mines, mills, & smelters.
Comminution is the process of grinding and crushing ore to extract the desired mineral. Mining comminution consumes 3% of all electrical power generated in the world. Without it we cant make #GreenEnergy

How much solar did Netherlands install in 2022? It's an important Q because it's probably the fastest/capita in the world! @IRENA (left) said over 7GW this week @SolarPowerEU (right) said 4GW in Dec. Any ideas, @Sustainable2050 @sunnybloke ?
