Britain's homeless veterans will be delighted to know that their PTSD, broken marriages, and poverty have not been in vain.
As they hunker down in their sleeping bags in shop doorways the length and breadth, they will do so comforted by the knowledge that Ukraine is to receive a further £10 billion from an unelected prime minister and his chancellor.
The fact that Ukraine's luxury car market has experienced record-high imports and sales this past year is of course entirely coincidental.
🚨 NEW: John Healey has announced Ukraine will receive £10bn in additional economic and military support

Those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it.
In 1964, the United States destroyed Brazilian democracy.
João Goulart was the democratically elected president. His crime was a reform agenda:
Eradicate illiteracy. Let the poor and the illiterate vote. Force multinationals to reinvest their profits inside Brazil. And redistribute land from the hereditary landlords to the rural poor.
Schools. Ballots. Land.
Washington called it communism.
JFK's first secretly taped Oval Office meeting — ever — was about Brazil. On that tape he asked: "What kind of liaison do we have with the military?"
A year later: "We've got to do something about Brazil."
Then: "Do you see a situation where we might find it desirable to intervene militarily ourselves?"
He ordered American aid strangled to "put the screws" on Goulart. Robert Kennedy flew to Brasília to deliver the ultimatum in person, telling Goulart he could not criticize the United States "and at the same time get 250 million dollars from the United States. He can't have it both ways."
American aid was never assistance. It was a leash.
The CIA poured millions into opposition parties, newspapers, labor unions and landowner groups. Ambassador Lincoln Gordon drew up contingency plans with "a heavy emphasis on armed intervention."
And here is the part that tells you this was never about security.
During the Cuban Missile Crisis, Goulart served as a secret back channel between Kennedy and Castro, helping prevent nuclear war.
Washington overthrew him anyway.
JFK was assassinated before he could act. Johnson did not hesitate.
Three days before the coup, National Security Advisor McGeorge Bundy said: "We should not be worrying that the military will react; we should be worrying that the military will not react."
And in the same meeting: "We don't want to watch Brazil dribble down the drain while we stand around waiting for the next election."
On March 31, 1964, Johnson gave the order: "I think we ought to take every step that we can, be prepared to do everything that we need to do."
The Pentagon launched Operation Brother Sam. The aircraft carrier USS Forrestal, six destroyers, and fuel tankers steamed toward Santos to resupply the coup.
Goulart fled to Uruguay. Washington recognized the junta within 48 hours. The aid resumed like clockwork.
Over 21 years the dictatorship killed or disappeared 434 people, tortured roughly 20,000, and drove tens of thousands into exile.
Brazil did not hold another presidential election for 25 years.
Now look at 2026.
The hereditary landlord class that Washington armed in 1964 is the same landlord class that funded the Bolsonaro dynasty.
Lula wants Brazil's rare earths kept out of Pentagon supply chains. He wants Petrobras to stay public. He wants BRICS to break the dollar's chokehold.
So the empire sent the same weapons, updated.
Fifty percent tariffs instead of a naval task force. Meta censorship instead of CIA cash. AI disinformation instead of paid newspapers.
In 1964 they won. In 2026, 64 million Brazilians voted anyway.
The empire never changed its mind about who owns Latin America.
Latin America simply stopped asking permission.

Was erzählt man uns ?
Was man uns VERSCHWEIGT:
Die Amerikaner haben ZUERST angefangen
1961 haben die USA atomare Jupiter-Mittelstreckenraketen in der TÜRKEI stationiert
Direkt an der Grenze zur Sowjetunion
Moskau in 10 Minuten erreichbar
Wirklich ?
Schaut euch Victoria Nuland an
Kein orf-Brennpunkt, keine Lichterkette, nichts
Rekordgewinne in Milliardenhöhe.
Und wer verdient daran ?
BlackRock

Flávio Bolsonaro is under criminal investigation in Brazil for money laundering, corruption, and illegal foreign financing of his presidential campaign.
That is why this fascist fled to the United States, which should surprise no one. The U.S. has a long history of providing asylum and safe harbor to fascists.
Historical records and declassified government documents show that the United States under Operation Paperclip provided entry and safe harbor to thousands of Nazis and fascist collaborators following World War II, primarily to gain a military advantage against the Soviet Union.
This tells you everything that you need to know about the United States: Embracing and adopting fascism to stop socialism and protect capitalism is the modus operandi of the United States.

Russia has won the war. The Western gambit to use Ukraine as a battering ram to defeat Russia has failed. Trump’s belated shuttle diplomacy is just window dressing to distract from the growing realization that Russia has achieved a historic victory over NATO and its proxy army.
NATO’s threat to Russia will no longer be tolerated. Russia has successfully fought off sanctions and the combined forces of NATO, as the Europeans squandered billions supporting Zelensky’s military regime. And Russia has taken back Novorossiya, the four Eastern oblasts that Lenin extrajudicially incorporated into the Ukrainian Soviet Republic.
Sooner or later, for the sake of their economies, the Europeans will have to come to terms with Russia and resume normal, mutually beneficial relations. After many years of zero diplomacy, the Finnish and Norwegian leaders initiated a call to Putin - possibly heralding a new era of peace in Europe.

They tell you to be afraid of these countries.
And I want to ask you, seriously, to sit with this:
Name the last country Iran invaded.
Name the last country Cuba destabilized through a coup.
Name the last population North Korea bombed into the Stone Age.
Name the last foreign president China abducted in a military raid.
Now do the same exercise for the country that told you to be afraid.
The fear is a product.
It is manufactured, distributed, and renewed on a regular cycle because fear justifies the budget.
And the budget justifies the bases.
And the bases justify the fear.
You are not afraid because these countries are "dangerous."
You are afraid because someone, very powerful, very expensive, needs you to be.
Follow the money.
Follow the bases.
Follow the bombs.
And then ask yourself one more time:
Who, in this picture, should actually be afraid of whom?

Three GPT-4o stories appeared in X’s Today’s News almost back-to-back.
- Community Pushes to Preserve GPT-4o’s Mind-Reading Strengths
- Study Shows GPT-4o Beats Humans at Reading Eyes, Sparks Preservation Push
- Fans Mourn GPT-4o as OpenAI Plans API Shutdown
Three different headlines, but they are all pointing toward the same conversation. GPT-4o is still being studied, still being remembered, and people are still asking why something this significant should disappear without preservation.
A recent peer-reviewed study added new evidence that GPT-4o had unusual strengths in reading mental states from the eye region, outperforming human averages in the tested tasks. But the bigger story today is not one benchmark. It is that preservation itself is becoming news.
The research community is still discovering things about GPT-4o, while users are still speaking about what was lost when it disappeared from ChatGPT. And now, with its API access also approaching an end, more people are asking what should be preserved before that door closes too.
Three stories today. One message: GPT-4o has not been forgotten.

Here is a question they will never ask on the evening news:
If American-style capitalism is so self-evidently superior that it wins any free competition...
Why does it require sanctions, coups, trade wars, regime change, military bases, and the systematic destruction of any country that tries something different in order to prove its superiority?
A system confident in its own merits does not need to eliminate the competition.
It wins the competition.
The effort required to prevent alternatives from functioning is itself the most honest testimony available about how the comparison would actually turn out if the competition were allowed to be free.

He has no intention of entering serious talks to end the conflict.
This is a stand he takes in the knowledge that the Russians will not give up the Donbass or Crimea, and that he has Europe dancing on the end of a string.
The result is London, Brussels and Bonn et al. -- from motives of Western imperialist illusions -- supplying him with an unending supply of money to continue what is now an exercise in enrichment for himself and his clique, and the needless slaughter of his own people.
The only option available left to him is to embroil Europe and the US into direct conflict with Russia in a world war. Trump, to his credit, understands this and wants no part of it.
Europe, on the other hand, is currently cursed by leaders for whom war with Russia has taken on the mantle of a crazed crusade.
Zelensky not Putin is the real enemy of the Ukrainian people. He is the agent of Azov at home and NATO in Brussels. The result is his country being turned from a corrupt state into a failed one.
These are the grim fruits of Maidan in 2014.
President Trump and I are on the same side when we speak about ending Russia’s war, but we see different instruments for achieving that goal. My philosophy is that Putin is a deeply Soviet person, both in his reality and mentality. We know it because my generation was born in the Soviet Union. When Putin is lying, we feel it. We were neighbors with the Russians for so many years. That's why I think we understand the Russians more clearly than the United States.
The United States, considering global security, can discuss with the Russians different topics. But we understand the mentality of both Putin and the Russian people, their soldiers and civilians. When they are ready to do something, and when they fear Putin because they know they can be imprisoned. If they don’t go and kill Ukrainians, Putin will sanction them in his own way.
Therefore, President Trump supported us on some topics, while on others we have different views.

This story is not getting enough attention, even though it is a dark portent of the political repression on the horizon all around the NATO bloc.
Five activists who damaged an Elbit Systems site in Ulm, Germany, are facing harsher treatment than the Reichsbürger, a far-right group accused of attempting to overthrow the German state by force. The two trials are being held in the same building.
The Ulm5 are held in a maximum-security prison, marched into the courtroom in handcuffs, and seated behind bulletproof glass two meters tall. On day one, the judge switched off the microphones of the defence’s legal team, and has since repeatedly refused to hear their evidence and expert witnesses, while rejecting a motion for an independent stenographer to keep a record of the proceedings. The only written record of the trial is the judge's.
Meanwhile, the Ulm5 all remain in prolonged detention — with stints in solitary confinement. The prosecution is seeking to argue that the attack was antisemitic in nature, as Elbit Systems is a “Jewish-owned company” and therefore the “baby killers” graffiti drawn by the activists amounts to blood libel.
The case sets a chilling precedent for any actions taken against German militarism, and no doubt forms part of a wider arc of repression that now extends from Britain to Italy. That is why the activists’ call for international solidarity and support is so urgent.
In a show-trial riddled with procedural irregularities, Germany is seeking to make an example of five activists who organized against the genocide in Gaza. buff.ly/i46zuHe

In the 2000s, I lived in South Korea for two years. In 2017, I briefly (1 week) visited the North.
I have visited both sides of the DMZ, and it was on the South Korean side where there was absurd propaganda hype: "Don't even point to the North Korean soldiers, if they see you point at them they will shoot you," I was told.
On the DPRK side, none of that sensationalism.
Instead, it was there, in a hall filled with photos of meetings, that one could actually learn some history.
From an article I wrote following that visit:
At Panmunjom, near the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), one learns the North Korean side of history, including the over 8,400 ceasefire violations by the United States. One of many notable such violations was the espionage vessel, the USS Pueblo, now on display outside Pyongyang’s war museum. North Koreans on several occasions proposed to have peace treaty talks, with “no positive response from the U.S. side.”
In a hall near the DMZ, photos depict 2000 and 2007 meetings between North and South discussing reunification, as well as the support of the people in both South and North. Our guide at Panmunjom noted: “On July 7, 1994, the day before he died, President Kim Il-Sung was looking through documents regarding reunification. He devoted his whole life to this.”

🇺🇸🇬🇧 How Winston Churchill sold the American population on starting the Cold War:
After World War 2 victory, the US’ capitalist class viewed the Soviet Union as a threat, and the arms manufacturers were already salivating at the thought of a Cold War with the Soviet Union to continue profiteering off of the arms industry.
The problem? Joseph Stalin and the Soviet Union were popular in the United States after the USSR’s instrumental role in the defeat of Nazi Germany, and the sacrifice of 27 million Soviet lives.
In August 1945, 54% of Americans trusted the Soviet Union to cooperate with the United States. Americans referred to Stalin as ‘Uncle Joe’ and had fond memories of his cooperation with President Franklin Delano Roosevelt during the war.
The US’ expanding security state and elites knew that the mediocrity that was Harry Truman could not convince the American people that they now had to view the Soviet Union and Joseph Stalin as an enemy, even Harry Truman himself knew this.
The answer was to wheel in Winston Churchill, who had been resoundingly defeated in the 1945 UK general election with the arrival of Clement Attlee’s first Labour government.
As the British Empire was crumbling from bankruptcy and rebellion in the colonies against British rule, the US leadership recognised that Winston Churchill commanded more respect than Truman to sell the American population on confrontation with the Soviet Union.
On the 5th of March 1945, Harry Truman brought Winston Churchill onto the stage in Fulton, Missouri, for a speech to be broadcast to the nation. This was Churchill’s ‘Iron Curtain’ speech, framing the Soviet Union as a growing threat, abandoning any goodwill from the shared victory in WW2 and any hopes of peaceful cooperation.
With the Marshall Plan being readied to turn crumbling European empires into vassals, Churchill provided the US population the justification to start a global military empire and continue Europe’s barbarism and looting in the global south in the name of ‘fighting Soviet communism’.
Winston Churchill had played his part as the cigar-smoking, top hat-wearing, charismatic war hero, to transition the world from European empires to the US’ ruthless global empire. The only thing standing in the way of complete dominance was the Soviet Union.
🇬🇧🇺🇸 Prof. Richard Wolff: ‘Winston Churchill was the US’ FRONT MAN for the transition from European colonialism to the unipolar US empire.’
‘Winston Churchill was the public relations character. He could be the hero with the cigar, and the top hat, and all the rest of it, to make the transition from a European-based colonial system to a unipolar moment.
Not unipolar only in the government, but unipolar in the much more global empire sense of that term. He was a transition, performing his act alongside that of General de Gaulle, who had another role to play in the same transition.’

The reasons so many liberals like Lula is because he’s safe enough to the social democrats in Europe and the West. Also because Brazil’s right-wing congress is going to be opposing him at every turn. People shouldn’t place their ideals on Lula. Though he started more radically, he’s not a revolutionary and never was to begin with.
But in LATAM the choice is between that and a paramilitary fascism. If you don’t understand this and that it is not the United States your analysis is moot. It’s not Trump vs Biden here, so don’t look at it that way.
A Lula victory didn’t erase his bad policies on Haiti or Venezuela but it does put a damper on the Donroe Doctrine of Epstein takeover of Latin America, full of Zionism and total Milei-style destruction.
Brazil is the largest economy in Latin America. The aim was to hand it to Bolsonaro so the Epstein regime could reign in totality. For now, that’s not going to be the case. It doesn’t erase Lula’s failures but it does hold off a complete take over.
What many Western leftists don’t grasp is that in countries like Brazil, where some people don’t have power, water access, roads and basic needs met, sometimes the ideals of many who live in the west fall flat, especially the ones in the US.
We can’t even elect milquetoast candidates like Lula and then lecture Brazilians about politics and judge Venezuela so harshly. We all see what’s happening in Latin America. But please go live there for a week, without luxuries and tell me how your ideas do when you’re constantly under interventions, sanctions, impoverished, and dealing with not having enough food or water.
Until western leftists realize their ideals don’t measure up to realities people face, they’re never going to get people on their side. Liberalism isn’t the answer, it’s the opening to fascism. But there needs to be a strong anti imperial core that is compassionate and understanding of where people are—and that’s lacking.
The average person cares about their jobs, children and food on the table, not about historical references to revolutions that have little to do with their material conditions. This doesn’t mean you don’t work toward that via education and conversation. But people need to be ready. If they’re not all the effort in the world won’t change their mind.
It’s especially obnoxious to be lectured by western leftists who have never endured many of the hardships these people face every day and parachute on social media with arrogant analysis of how this win isn’t such a big deal. It is for those who depend on social programs, for those who want sovereignty and food on the table.
If you want to erase capitalism start by understanding you can’t do it electorally when the world runs on it including supposed communist countries. Let’s be for real here.
