Popped into tesco to get a few bits, Ryan's not non verbal but he can be selective on who he talks too and when, i try to encourage Ryan gently to talk to others when safe / appropriate to do so of course, anyway im at the self service till no bags so I say to Ryan to ask the nearby tesco worker, ryan ask the lady can ihave a bag please. Ryan goes up to her and says every word I've just said..."Ryan ask the lady can i have a bag please " she doesn't even blink or try to correct him or anything just hands him the bag and says "there you go Ryan" she was fantastic just a very simple thing but it'll certainly help Ryan's confidence when talking to people. Autistic people can often talk or interact with others differently to people that aren't Autistic, i loved how the lady didn't Judge, and how proud Ryan was walking bag with the bag.
