One of the silliest notions is that standing for a song or saluting a piece of cloth somehow demonstrates respect for people who participate in the state's wars.
I don't automatically respect someone for wearing a military uniform any more than I'd automatically respect someone for belonging to a street gang. A uniform doesn't confer moral legitimacy on someone's actions.
And the notion that fighting wars overseas somehow magically protects the individual rights of Americans at home is equally absurd.
Which rights, exactly? From whom? And how did those wars protect them?
Respect should be earned through individual conduct, not demanded because someone served an institution that exercises organized violence on behalf of political authority.
Neither a flag, an anthem, nor government propaganda transforms aggression into the defense of freedom.
Theo Von asks Sophie Cunningham what she thinks of WNBA players walking out during the national Anthem.
THEO VON: “How do you feel about that, or do you have any thoughts on it?”
CUNNINGHAM: “I mean, you know who you’re talking to? OF COURSE, I have thoughts on it.”
Cunningham stopped short of bashing her peers, but she made it clear she’s PROUD to be an American and will always show love for our troops.
Theo Von couldn’t understand why WNBA players making an average of $518,000 a year can’t show gratitude to the country that made their dreams possible.
Funny how the league that never stops demanding respect can’t give its own country even 20 seconds of it.
Remember folks, this will be the most important election of our lifetime!
Just like the one before that.
And the one before that.
And the one before that.
And the one before that.
It always puzzles me when people post:
"Abolish [agency/government thing]."
Because waiting for government to abolish itself requires…
(drumroll)
…more government.
You can’t end slavery by applying to be the overseer, and the Leviathan isn't going to sign its own death warrant.
Don't wait for permission.
Starve it, ignore it, and build around it.

Thinking that whatever sap happens to occupy the presidency has any bearing upon what the government does is like blaming the lady on the car insurance commercial when the company doesn't cover your claim.
Presidents are nothing more than corporate spokesmen.
Useless posturing.
The US congress last officially declared war in 1942.
Since then the US has been involved in over 200 conflicts most of if not all of which have lasted more than 90 days.
Afghanistan alone lasted nearly 20 years.
Fake and ghey.
Voting is not now nor ever has been a right.
To say it is simply means that one has no idea what a right is or how it works.
Sports stadiums are now using facial recognition and biometric authentication "for speed and convenience".
I advise you not to fall for it.
