A fighting game celebrating WB's history should've been easy gold, but the roster was quite literally an internet relevancy contest, down to the memes
WB as a company is just the Fumble of the Century
It's complicated. Sonic's gameplay was considered fun, but the rest of the game was hated, hence terms like "Sonic's annoying friends"
Reception changed pretty quickly though, it was always more a victim of overall Sonic hate than despised solely on its own

I don’t think there’s anything inherently wrong with enjoying children’s media as an adult but, sometimes it becomes painfully clear that someone’s entire sphere of artistic experience is exclusively children’s media and I beg you please expand your horizons.

The stereotype of fighting a god at the end of JRPGs is really funny to me cos it feels like it’s nowhere near as common as people say. Like I could probably only name 5 where you explicitly fight a god/diety

breathy is a good description but i think what's really happening is that anime/video game VAs are hired to play Archetypes not Characters and the Archetypes are based off of the 30+ years of previous anime dubbing so it's all samey and derivative

it’s soooo crazy to me that no one knows what to do with tmnt despite there being AMPLE incredible material in the idw comics and despite it being abundantly clear that pandering to toy sales and kids is why they keep flopping
