In March 1949 alone, the Soviets deported over 20,000 people from Estonia. Of those deported, 79% were women and children. Specific enough?
Replying to @TheFl0orIsLaVa @sopjap
It is always funny that Baltic reactionaries never get specific about _whom_ were deported and executed under the USSR to pretend it was some kind of genocide.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Soviet Baltic deportations are well documented with specifics. Operation Priboi (March 1949) deported ~20,700 from Estonia, over 70% women and children under 16. Totals exceed 200,000 across Baltics 1940-53.

Now that there's a global backlash to the hug ad, I think it's safe to say that 90% of the backlash is just a knee jerk anti-woke reaction that shuts off all critical thinking
Put very very simply, if a child feels like they can't say no to a family member hugging them, they're more likely to not say no to a family member touching them sexually
That's the premise. Everyone can understand this
If you do hate the ad tho that means you didn't pick up this message
Instead, your interpretation of it came from a media environment that is primed to be contrarian against anything perceived as "woke"
And this parallel media environment does not articulate the meaning of consent. Or at the very least, what "woke" mean by consent
So the anti-woke algorithm regurgitates opinions and feelings that at no point actually engage with what the message was supposed to be. Instead it's the politically motivated reasoning that they "think" it means
This can range from the idea that because a hug isn't sexual, it can't translate to the concept of consent
Which is obviously silly because everyone can understand that the journey to sexual maturity involves learning how to use your body to play, how not to hurt someone, what you like, what you don't like etc. Which are the learned mechanisms we later use when we're older, sexual beings
To the idea that if a kid can say no to a hug that means grandparents will never get a hug. Which implies consent only comes with a no
Which is also obviously silly because the word 'yes' exists. And most kids like hugging their grandparents
Its easy to claim anti-wokists secretly want children to be vulnerable or just don't care by refusing to understand consent but this is dumb. And in fact just the inverse problem
What's actually happening is people are interacting with the world through completely different media environments. We literally don't understand what the other side is saying
Its the root of the culture war
But because of how convincing algorithms are it's really really hard to not view the other side as stupid, malicious idiots
And because so many people don't like to read long form content of opposing ideologies, it's almost impossible to actually solve this problem
So we're stuck being dumbfounded as to how people can't understand such simple topics like consent or family values

Tämän lapsen nimi on Angelina.

Today, five children killed by a Russian attack - 13-year-old Zakharii, 14-year-old Viorika, 16-year-old Dominika, 9-year-old Federika, and 18-month-old Artem - were laid to rest in Radushne, Dnipropetrovsk region.
A Russian missile struck the Voronov family's home on the night of July 29-30.
For more than two months, the children had been listed as missing. Their bodies were finally identified after extensive DNA testing.
Ten members of the Voronov family were killed in that Russian attack: 47-year-old Artem, his 41-year-old wife Olena, seven of their children, and their 18-month-old grandson.
A farewell ceremony for the Voronov family in Radushne, Dnipropetrovsk region.
Dad Artem (47), Mom Olena (41), their sons Mark (17) and Azarii Ilai (11), and their youngest daughter Emiliia (6), were killed by Russia.
A Russian missile strike completely destroyed their home. Five more children, including their 1.5-year-old grandson, Artem, remain missing.
"He called me and said, 'Our son is gone...' Those words hit me like a stone. I'll remember them for the rest of my life," Artem's mom shared.
My heart breaks for this family.
Deepest condolences...

It’s her little shoes with perfectly tied laces by a mother who loved her that gets me. Now they’re both gone.
A horrific Russian strike in the Kharkiv region. A “shahed” struck people directly – in a park near an ordinary café. Pure atrocity. Six people were killed, including children. A little girl was killed in a stroller – her name was Angelina, she was just over a year old, born in August 2025… Her mother’s name was Inna. She died in the hospital… Another girl who was killed was 11 years old. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Another 14 people were injured, including six more children.
I am grateful to everyone who supports Ukraine under these circumstances and helps us shoot down “shaheds,” shoot down missiles, and stop Russian assaults. These are horrific photos, but behind them are shattered lives and the truth about this war. Lives must be protected. Ukraine needs air defense. You can't think about making money with Russia as long as it continues its asinine war. We ask that sanctions on Russia stay in place as long as the killings continue. We ask America to be strong, and we ask it to apply the Lindsey Graham law. We ask Europe to continue its support. We ask that everything possible be done to bring peace and guarantee security. Ukraine wants peace. It is Russia that has insisted on continuing the killing all this time. The world has enough strength to stop the war. That strength must finally be used – against the murderers.

Baby Anhelina and her mom Inna were killed by Russia yesterday.
Anhelina was just over a year old. Her mom, Inna Mariukhna, was a primary school teacher. They were in the park in Nova Vodolaha, Kharkiv region, when a Russian drone attacked.
Little Anhelina was killed in her stroller. Her mom died of her injuries in hospital.
Another girl killed in the strike was just 11 years old.
Six people lost their lives from that Russian strike. All of them had simply been spending time in the park. At least 15 more were injured, including seven kids.
Deepest condolences...
