but the national guard is here. Florida Emergency is here, the Red Cross is here. Countless volunteers and folks just trying to help. The recovery efforts were fast and mind you they are ALL still here a week later. Areas hit hard take time to recover, especially those more rural.

The reports/pictures I’m seeing from Pensacola, Pace and Milton are simply heartbreaking.
Numerous trees and power lines down, structural damage, roads impassable, etc.
Grocery Outlet in Pace lost its roof. Walmart on Hwy 29 in Pensacola also has roof damage.

🚨 NWS Mobile and Tallahassee now have an EXTREME wind threat for the western Florida Panhandle from #Isaias.
Winds over 110 mph are possible from Pensacola, Gulf Breeze and Pensacola Beach through Navarre, Fort Walton Beach, Destin, Niceville and Crestview to Miramar Beach, Santa Rosa Beach, and Seaside. Hurricane force winds (74–110 mph) reach out to Rosemary Beach, DeFuniak Springs, and Freeport.
Shelter in a sturdy building away from windows tonight, time to hunker down. Expect widespread power outages and catastrophic damage in spots along the coast.

7:20 AM CDT Friday Oct 9 Update: Isaias becomes a major hurricane. Data from an Air Force Reserve hurricane hunter aircraft indicate that the maximum sustained winds have increased to 120 mph. Isaias is now a category 3 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale. Follow the latest at hurricanes.gov
