27-year-old political prisoner Mohammad Aref Shahbakhsh was executed today in Iran. He had been sentenced to death on "charges of rebellion and waging war against God", after being arrested in September 2024. #StopExecutionsInIran
This morning, the clerical regime executed 20-year-olds Amir Hossein Maleki and Amir Hossein Ebrahimi over the “Alikhani Square” protests in Isfahan during the January 2026 uprising.
Faced with growing resistance, the regime uses violent executions of PMOI/MEK political prisoners and rebellious protesters to instill fear and crush another uprising by the people of Iran. Such cruelty, however, only strengthens the resolve of young Iranians fighting for freedom against religious fascism.
I call on the United Nations, member states, and international human rights organizations to take urgent action to stop these political executions. I reiterate the need to prosecute the regime's criminal leaders and judges for five decades of crimes against humanity.
If death threats worked, SAVAK would have kept Reza Pahlavi’s father on the throne.
Reza Pahlavi was in @Europarl_EN today. I received death threats from his supporters for protesting this visit. While his supporters claim he has a democratic platform, they have welcomed him today as the next Shah (King) of Iran!

💪 I join #NoToExecutionTuesdays in the solidarity hunger strike for the human rights defenders that are being jailed and threatened with death for their work. At least 46 political prisoners and protesters have been executed in Iran since March 2026. More than 100 others remain on death row. The executions should end and those detained released.

Today, MEPs stood in solidarity with Iran’s political prisoners participating in the #NoToExecutionTuesdays campaign.
Since January 2024, what began with a number of prisoners has grown into a movement spanning 66 prisons across Iran.
Every Tuesday, prisoners on death row and political prisoners, go on hunger strike to make their voices heard. They chose Tuesday because it is the day prisoners are transferred to solitary confinement ahead of execution.
Their message is clear: #StopExecutionsInIran
Last week, @Ginitastar joined the hunger-striking prisoners in solidarity. Today, @SRfreedex_LMG joined the campaign by undertaking a hunger strike.
Thank you to all the MEPs standing up against executions in Iran, and special thanks to @petras_petras for spearheading this vital campaign.
