I will always be a Pikmin 4 glazer. Yeah it does things differently from the other three games but a new game also should explore new ground. I for one, love the platforming and combat options Oatchi adds to the game, to make for more vertical areas to explore and scour.
It is set in the fat future based on continent shapes, and some treasures have Olimar describing them as long-lost artifacts, tho otherwise... not really.
I think different areas on Pikmin earth have just changed in different ways, some zones are abandoned, others are not.
Rather they put effort into representing actual established characters (bonus if it's RPG because those have unique designs) over enemy specie #69. It's even worse if they don't even have limbs.
I don't care if Mario is "unrealistic", there are different degrees of unrealism.
I mean, this still ended up being true, largely. Ragatha didn't have as many moments as Jax in EP5 but it still developed her character (as frankly did EP6 to an extent). Jax is also easily the character with the most layering so it makes sense he'd slowly get more focus.
The idea that some random birds got further into development than Diddy Kong...
Deadass a Spiny was considered to become a playable racer before Boom Boom or Sumo Bros.
I wish they didn't forgot to bring in the true MVP from Mario Odyssey into the fold as well😭Imagine how cool it would be to play as a sentient hat in spin-off's that could transform into different designs depending on their mood or happenings.
On the surface I would get this, but meanwhile Wario and especially Waluigi have been resigned to being exclusively spin-off playable characters at this point. Nintendo's priorities in general are downright bizarre and frankly disappointing
It was a good year to be a Mario fan. If you weren't... not as much, but it had a lot of overlooked classics comapratively to most Nintendo years, from the best Mario Party, a super creative 2D Zelda, and not to mention an amazing rebirth for Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi.
I've always said that a fan with the skills and dedication will 99% of the time make a more enjoyable game compared to companies.
This is not to downplay the official efforts of Nintendo, but also, fans know what they enjoy the most, and what they think needs improving.
I remember how obsessed I used to be with the moon when I first saw it in the sky. I would make up my own lore about different forms the moon could take, and the different dangers that came from them lol
Rare moment where the final game actually looks as enchanting as the concept art preceeding it.
It's such a shame they didn't put as much love into the actual story-telling, characters and plot development as they did into the animation and action
The talent of Rimea is immeasurable
I'm gonna be honest, this is most Kirby bosses to me. Most of them are just beeg enemies whom you spam your copy ability on or wait until they spawn stars for you to suck up and spit back. I can count on one hand how many Kirby bosses are actually interesting to me.
