Cody Hodgson was forced to retire 8 years ago after being diagnosed with malignant hyperthermia.
At age 33, he signed a PTO with the Milwaukee Admirals and scored his first pro goal since the 2015-16 season 👏

Devastating video from the Lutsen Lodge this morning. I spoke to the resort’s general manager, who told me no guests were staying there. An employee saw smoke coming out of an electrical outlet and called 911.

BREAKING: Alex Formenton, a former NHL player with the Ottawa Senators and 2018 junior player, has turned himself into London police. "Alex will vigorously defend his innocence and asks that people not rush to judgment without hearing all of the evidence.” theglobeandmail.com/canada/a…

"Senior officials at Hockey Canada... claimed they didn’t know who was involved. It was a statement as ridiculous as it was disheartening and sickening."
Columnist Gary Mason with some perspective on how Hockey Canada's top officials agreed to pay millions to settle a lawsuit... without knowing who was involved in the alleged sexual assault.
Also, the public *still* does not know the identity of the Hockey Canada employee who contacted one of the players involved - hours after the alleged assault - to tell him the woman's family had contacted Hockey Canada.
If and when Hockey Canada makes public its investigation findings, it will be interesting to see how the decisions of the federation's executives are judged.

Maybe it’s just me, but if it’s true that Dubé left the #Flames due to the Team Canada stuff, I think it’s an awful look to put it under the guise of “mental health” and not just a leave of absence. It does a disservice to players who may truly be struggling with mental health

Here’s what we know right now:
Jan. 21 - Dillon Dube granted leave of absence by #Flames, citing “mental health”.
Jan. 23 - Carter Hart granted leave of absence by #LetsGoFlyers, citing “personal reasons”. GM Briere says he hasn’t been in touch with player or representation.
Jan. 24 - The Globe publishes article on London Police asking 5 members of 2018 Canada WJC team to surrender and face charges.
Jan. 24 - Alex Formenton granted leave of absence by Swiss club HC Ambri-Piotta, currently en route back to Canada.
Jan. 24 - Michael McLeod and Cal Foote granted leave of absence by #NJDevils, no reason given.
Story ongoing, but we might be reaching a conclusion here.

Asteroid City: Wes is BACK. more than one of the very best movies Wes Anderson has ever made, this cosmic & dreamy (and sneakily moving) grief comedy offers a radical new take on his usual approach to story.
