Wayne Rooney has been named pundit of the year at the Broadcast Sport Awards. Well deserved. He is refreshingly blunt. As seen here when he spoke his mind about the half time show during the World Cup final.

One thing I hate about the way we play: We tend to play down or up to the opposition, and that's why we have fewer 5-0s and 6-0s kinda performances than we should probably have.
🥉 ARSENAL’S COMPLACENCY ALMOST COST THEM!

Très intéressant le classement de la Champions League avec une vue des résultes par adversaire de chaque pot. Paris a déjà affronté les deux clubs du Pot 1 (tête de série).

Ødegaard ?
This season’s Premier League midfielders (2026/27, league games only): deep-lying playmaking vs creating. Rice is the best overall, Iwobi the top creator

Exclusive: Chelsea owner’s company resold Premier League tickets at inflated prices. Tickets for matches for all PL clubs - apart from Chelsea - were offered by website but that access now removed after The Times contacted Clearlake. Story with @Adam___Williams thetimes.com/sport/football/…

🚨🤯 As part of investigations, The Times bought a ticket for one Premier League match at the end of last season via the website at just under four times its face value. Instructions from the seller included: “Once in the stadium, please try to locate the entrance and your seat independently without the help of the stewards. It’s very unlikely, but if anyone asks ‘Where did you get the ticket from?’ Please tell them that you received it from your friend.” This is insane.
🚨BREAKING: Chelsea owner’s company resold Premier League tickets at inflated prices. Co-owner Behdad Eghbali is also a director of company that owns reselling platform, while club threatens fans who tout tickets with lifetime bans Customers in the UK have been able to buy tickets for matches involving all Premier League clubs apart from Chelsea [@martynziegler]

Terrible news from Spain: Tenerife player Jesus de Miguel has sadly passed away. The striker has could not overcome the serious consequences of the incident suffered during the match against FC Andorra. A devastating loss for Tenerife and whole football world. Prayers and thoughtd go out to his family, friends, teammates, and everyone at CD Tenerife during this difficult time. Rest in peace. 🕊️

Labelling #Arsenal as soft was easy work for pundits; that’s why they hate that Mikel Arteta has made us the toughest, most physically robust all phase team in the league with a defence that doesn’t let you breathe. It’s never been about entertainment.

For the love of eveything that is pure give him some elite attackers. What is possible is something beyond your most giddy imaginations.
Arteta is above Mourinho, huh.

The difference between Tzolis and Trossard, Tzolis should have taken that shoot as Trossard would certainly have.

There is a day Arteta will play Gabriel, Konsa and Saliba together and the UN will call an emergency council meeting. They will designate Arsenal a terrorist group and the US will impose sanctions on us coz of having a nuclear weapon.

It was the media who claimed Arteta was a Pep disciple purely because he worked under him People forget in 22/23 and 23/24 Arsenal were one of the most expansive attacking teams but Arteta realised the way to win the league is to stop conceding goals Which he did on both accounts
Because. 1. Arteta was hired as a Pep disciple, not a George Graham pragmatist. 2. The Champions of Europe are pure fantasy. So teams copy fashion. Except the Champions of England. 3. Many Premier League teams sacrifice shape, discipline and organisation. Arsenal don't.

Do not take this for granted. Under Mikel, we have won at OT many times, Stamford Bridge many times, Spurs’ ground many times, positive results against Liverpool and Citeh but now finally getting the Anfield W. Before Mikel, we did sweet fuck all in these grounds for many years. Last time we beat United in the league at OT was Adebayor in 06, last time we beat Chelsea at the Bridge was RVP hatty in 2011, Liverpool at Anfield was 2012, White Hart Lane was Rosicky in 2014. The negative ones ultimately haven’t gone through the mill. I’ve been through the mill, seen all of this before Mikel and that’s why I don’t take any of this for granted.
