You asked why Nigeria, a major crude producer, still paid so much for petrol? WHAT HE MET: In May 2023, Nigeria depended heavily on imported refined products. No energy security. WHAT HE DID: President Tinubu took the difficult but necessary decisions: - Removed petrol subsidy - Introduced Naira-for-Crude to boost local refining - Reformed forex market & strengthened fiscal management RESULT: Payed IMF (Covid19) loan, macroeconomic stability improved. In Oct 2025, Nigeria exited the FATF Grey List. FDI jumped from $895M in 2022 to $4.01BN in 2025. The work continues - turning reforms into jobs, stronger businesses and opportunities for Nigerians. #RenewedHopeEffect

Dear Senator Adams Oshiomhole, leadership deserves to be judged by the breadth of its impact, not the narrowness of its boundaries. With due respect, Hon. Dayo Israel has never been one to pursue relevance through controversy. His commitment to the APC, its institutional growth and the electoral success of its candidates has been demonstrated through consistent engagement, mobilisation and grassroots outreach. At the inauguration of the Presidential Campaign Council, the party’s Women Leader was designated to lead the Women Directorate, just as the PWD Leader was to head the PWD Directorate. Many well-meaning APC youths welcomed the arrangement and congratulated Dayo, considering it a recognition of his capacity and an appropriate alignment of party structures with campaign responsibilities. Subsequently, following reported disagreements over the arrangement, a revised circular designated him Deputy Director of the relevant directorate. Whatever the circumstances surrounding that adjustment, his commitment to the party’s cause remained undiminished. On youth mobilisation, Dayo’s record extends far beyond conventional rallies and political gatherings. He has taken the party’s message into communities, villages, towns, campuses and youth organisations, building connections with young Nigerians and mobilising support for APC candidates. Beyond the electioneering period, he has continued engaging young people, including those outside the party, in communicating the policies and vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Administration. Respectfully, Senator, the argument that a party youth leader should simply return to his ward or polling unit risks overlooking the broader responsibilities of political leadership. Grassroots engagement and national youth mobilisation are not mutually exclusive; they are complementary dimensions of effective party organisation. A leader’s mandate should be an instrument for expanding participation, not a boundary around his influence. This is not a challenge to your experience or a disregard for your standing in the party. It is an appeal for a fuller appreciation of Dayo Israel’s contributions, sacrifices and capacity. Political differences are inevitable, but they should not overshadow the work already done or discourage the ambition to do more. At a time when the APC must consolidate its structures and mobilise young Nigerians ahead of 2027, the more productive question is not whether Dayo Israel should lead, but how his experience, network and influence can be deployed more effectively for the party’s collective success. -JOSHUA OLAYIWOLA, An Apc Youth from Kwara.
Adams Oshiomhole to Dayo Israel: "...Your issue is just a complete distraction; go and work in your unit, go and work in your ward; you are a party youth leader; it doesn't make it obligatory that you must lead the youth. You are not the one to mobilize youths in my village or polling unit..." - Senator and fmr Governor of Edo State

Dear Senator Adams Oshiomhole: Empowering Youth Leadership Is Investing in the APC’s Future Dear Senator Adams Oshiomhole, There was a time in Nigeria’s political history when your name represented the voice and aspirations of ordinary Nigerian workers. As President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, you established yourself as a formidable mobiliser who understood that effective leadership required taking the struggle to the people, building solidarity and challenging limitations. Your experience in organised labour demonstrated that influence is earned through the ability to connect with people, inspire collective action and champion a cause beyond familiar boundaries. It is against this background that the conversation surrounding Hon. Dayo Israel, the APC National Youth Leader, deserves a broader perspective. Since assuming office, Dayo has worked to strengthen the party’s relationship with young Nigerians by taking youth engagement beyond conventional election-time mobilisation. Through engagements with youth organisations, students, communities and other groups across the country, he has continued to promote participation in the APC and communicate the policies and vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. His approach recognises an important political reality: a party that seeks the loyalty of young Nigerians must do more than invite them to rallies during elections. It must engage them consistently, give them a sense of belonging and create opportunities for meaningful participation. This is an important dimension of Dayo’s contribution to the party. Senator, your own history as a labour leader offers a useful lesson. You did not build your influence by confining your activities to a particular workplace or limiting your advocacy to one geographical area. You understood that organised labour derived its strength from nationwide solidarity, broad engagement and the ability to mobilise people around common interests. That same principle should apply to youth leadership in the APC. A National Youth Leader must be able to engage at the grassroots while maintaining a national outlook. These responsibilities are complementary, not contradictory. Suggesting that Dayo should restrict his activities to his ward or polling unit overlooks the national character of the office he occupies and the wider responsibilities that come with it. It is also worth acknowledging that political disagreements and changes in administrative arrangements should not erase an individual’s contributions. Despite reported adjustments to campaign council responsibilities, Dayo’s commitment to the party’s mobilisation efforts has remained evident. His value to the APC should ultimately be assessed by his contributions, capacity and willingness to serve. As the party looks towards the 2027 general elections, it needs a youth leadership structure capable of connecting with a generation whose political expectations are changing. Young Nigerians want to be heard, represented and included in decisions that shape their future. Dayo’s national platform, networks and experience in youth engagement provide the APC with an opportunity to deepen that connection. Senator, your political journey demonstrates the importance of giving people the space to exercise their capacity and build influence. The next generation of political leaders deserves that same opportunity. Constructive criticism has its place, but it should be accompanied by an appreciation of the work being done and an understanding of the responsibilities attached to leadership. The more productive conversation, therefore, is not about limiting Dayo Israel’s reach but about how the party can better harness his experience and mobilisation capacity for its collective success.

The APC should not narrow the influence of its National Youth Leader when that influence can be an asset to the entire party. A stronger, better-supported youth leadership translates into a more engaged membership, broader political participation and a stronger foundation for future electoral success. Having once demonstrated the power of nationwide mobilisation through organised labour, you understand better than most that leadership achieves its greatest impact when it is allowed to reach the people. That principle should guide how we support and assess the leadership of Dayo Israel. The future of the APC depends, in part, on how well it empowers the young people who will carry its vision forward. ESTHER OYEYINKA APC Stakeholder.
