La decimotercera sesión de la Conferencia de las Partes en la Convención de las Naciones Unidas contra la Delincuencia Organizada Transnacional (COPUNTOC ) concluyó este viernes tras cinco días de debates.
Entre los resultados clave se encuentra la adopción de una resolución para iniciar negociaciones sobre un posible nuevo Protocolo de la Convención de las Naciones Unidas contra los Delitos Ambientales (UNTOC) relativo a los delitos que afectan al medio ambiente.
Esta iniciativa responde a la creciente preocupación por el tráfico ilícito de fauna silvestre, madera, minerales, metales preciosos y residuos.
También refleja un reconocimiento cada vez mayor de los vínculos entre los delitos ambientales, las redes delictivas organizadas y sus amplias repercusiones en las comunidades, las economías y los ecosistemas.

Una ONG entregó restos humanos en el aeropuerto, asegurando que pertenecían a nuestros cuatro aerotécnicos.
Sin embargo, los restos corresponden a un niño, a un hombre de una estatura considerablemente mayor que la de nuestros aerotécnicos y a una persona que portaba parte de un uniforme de un ejército que no es el nuestro.

Britain's spy chiefs have warned Artificial Intelligence could represent one of the biggest threats to UK national security in the years ahead
The heads of MI5 (Ken McCallum), MI6 (Blaise Metreweli) and GCHQ (Anne Keast-Butler) gave a briefing to the Cabinet on September 8
A lengthy discussion was had about how AI could be exploited by those eager to damage Britain
There are concerns about hostile states such as Russia and Iran weaponising the emerging technology, as well as terrorist groups and lone wolves
McCallum is understood to told minsters AI is "the biggest thing you should be thinking about"
The warning comes in Sunday Times reporting about nervousness about AI at the top of government and whether Andy Burnham is gripping it enough
