2008 gave us Lehman. 2015 gave us another warning from regulators. 2021 gave us 1.4 billion unbanked adults. Different problems. One underlying question: Why is financial infrastructure still so difficult to see and access? I went looking for an answer. What I found was $NOTE.

🚨 TRADE FOR FREE? 🚨 Then what's the wall? Think about buying something as simple as a snack. If the snack costs $5 and someone says, “That’ll be another $2 just to hand it to you,” you’d probably pause. Now imagine having to think about extra costs whenever you participate in a market. One fee might not look huge on its own. But fees can become another barrier people have to consider. That’s the Fee Wall. And this is one reason I find the evolution of stock access through crypto platforms interesting. MEXC offers 0 trading fees across its stock products, except for a few Pre-IPO pairs. And for RealStocks, MEXC offers 0 platform trading fees during the promotional period. That doesn't mean every possible cost disappears. It simply means one layer of trading costs can be reduced. And that's the bigger idea. “0 fees = better” isn't the whole story. It's about what happens when one more barrier gets lower. Think of a wall. If the wall is huge, getting to the other side feels difficult. Remove one layer of bricks, and the wall hasn't disappeared completely… but it's a little lower. That's what makes the Fee Wall interesting to me. The conversation shifts from: “How many costs are standing between me and this market?” to: “What does access look like when some of those costs are removed?” That's the part of the shift I find interesting.
