Admittedly this is most likely a bug and not intentional.

Oh I think you missed a nuance on my original tweet! I'm connected to the *internet apn over the epdg* not the ims apn. For some reason at&ts epdg exposes the "eresller" apn over the epdg which is how mvnos get internet access. D

If you think about it, a modern phone carrier is just a data only wwan provider which provides an sip trunk with ims-aka auth instead of username/password... Kind of interesting to think about

This actually makes me wonder how data is counted. I had assumed it was counted at the pg-w... It only makes sense because that's where ims traffic and internet traffic are seperated. But if that was the case it should have counted here. I should be connected to the same pgw

You would think so, and I had assumed it would. The answer is no

@domi007 I have realized. Some flights allow you to receive SMS in the air for OTP, especially on T-Mobile. This means the epdg is available (Verizon vzwinternet isn't on the epdg I checked) but if you have a carrier that is, this is basically a whitelisted VPN!

I've discovered things about Verizon's IMS core that have horrified me too much to talk about publicly while working on NekoIMS LOL But they don't have a bug bounty program
