I am extremely please proud thrilled crying screaming to announce my third book, SWEET ENOUGH: DESSERTS FOR PEOPLE WHO DONT DO DESSERT out 3/28/23, available for pre-order now 🥰🍰😇
What could it have been
Things first began to feel off in March, but it wasn’t only because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Writer Rachel Handler saw a sudden decline in America’s supply of dry, store-bought bucatini in New York. “The missing bucatini felt different,” writes Handler. “It was specific. Frightening. Why bucatini? Why now? Why us?”
Bucatini is like spaghetti, but thicker and with a hole in it. It’s great at absorbing sauces, and is beloved by pasta connoisseurs. Bon Appétit deemed it the “best long pasta,” and New York City pasta magnate Frank Prisinzano said, “Lol it’s spaghetti with a hole in it. Who doesn’t like that?” When Handler discovered the shortage wasn’t just in New York City, she felt an obligation to solve the mystery of the disappearing bucatini. And it turned out the mystery went far deeper than she could have imagined.

A story about following your dreams even if they’re stupid, and believing in yourself, even if you’re stupid (which would explain the quality of the dreams): theatlantic.com/magazine/202…

Thinking about how she said the salt is supposed to prevent sticking but it doesn’t always work that way… it’s kind of wonderful how we can relate that to how life works

im always at the supermarket like "oh i should get some farro to have in the house :)" and then i get home and open the cabinets and am like oh i seem to have forgotten. that i am actually The Farro-Keeper's Apprentice.
My husband (who has exquisite and generally unimpeachable movie taste) loved the Robbie Williams monkey movie (unironically)
I support a Billy/Meg reunion and love to see Katz’s get their flowers always, but there’s no mayonnaise on a pastrami sandwich, huge conceptual flaw in the commercial
The vibes are “cook something that takes a long time to prevent you from looking at your phone too much”
