By missing training camp without permission, Hellebuyck's Cap Hit is reduced to $8.1M this season.
The #NJDevils currently have $8.2M Current Cap Space available, so when his suspension is lifted, they will have sufficient space without requiring a roster move.

Marcus Pettersson and Sean Durzi have the second-highest total for expected goals against this season (7.1) among 90 D pairs that have logged at least 50 min together, per @MoneyPuckdotcom, which has received some attention from #NYR fans. Their 2.73 xGA/60 (which is a more accurate representation because it averages out those minutes) isn't as nearly bad but still not great, ranking 61st among the 90 pairs, yet they've only been on ice for 3 goals against in 11 games.
Here was Sullivan's take (it's a long one, but a thorough quote I thought was worth sharing):
“When you start looking at metrics and things of that nature, context is really important. If you don't understand context, it's hard for you to interpret data the right way. So for example, if there's a defense pair or a line combination that gets a lot of defensive-zone starts against the other team's top players, they're probably going to be on the ice for some chances against. But they might limit the quality of the chance or the quantity of the chances of the other team's top players, and they keep them off the board, and we have success because of it. Their metrics might not look positive, but the value is they help us win. …
“It's dangerous, quite honestly, when people try to interpret numbers in the absence of context. The other aspect of it is, when you look at one or two data points, I'm not sure that tells the whole story, either. When you look at multiple data points, it gives you a little bit of a better picture of what that context is or what it looks like. So, we believe Marcus and Durz have given us pretty good minutes. … They get hard minutes, and they play against a lot of top players. Some nights they've been better than others, without a doubt. But I also think there's more to it than (the analytics).”
