In this scene, Ravan himself is dropping Sita Mata's jewellery. However, according to the original scriptures,Sita Ma cleverly and consciously dropped her ornaments without Ravana noticing. But Namit ji is such a huge admirer of Ravan! He couldn't resist showcasing Ravan's aura!
When I saw the promos, I had one thing, hope they have not overcompensated for shoddy acting with VFX, that is exactly what they have done
Look at the depth and intensity of their acting. Meanwhile, in Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana, Bharat and Shatrughan look like side actors hired on a Dihadi.
Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana is a total downgrade from this. You can’t compensate for a lack of profundity and depth with VFX and CGI.
The director skipped every emotional moment to move on to another action sequence.
Don’t know why Kaushalya has almost no role in the movie.
During the Sita Haran sequence, Sita didn’t seem to fight back.
Ranbir’s acting upon hearing the news of Dashrath’s death was totally blank.

My thoughts exactly….not my cup of tea
Ramayana doesn't need a Hollywood budget to conquer the world. It needs a soul.
Let me be clear. I have no issue with the scale, VFX or ambition of Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana. Nor do I want the film to fail. I want it to succeed.
But my concern is DHARMA.
Namita Malhotra is a businessman investing in a massive commercial venture. That's perfectly legitimate. But when you want to turn Ramayana into theme parks, T-shirts, toys and merchandise, are you celebrating Dharma or monetising it?
There is a difference.
Remember Hanuman Ansh? No superstar brigade. No astronomical budget. No Hollywood names. Yet it struck a chord because the makers put their heart and soul into it. I wrote a review of it that went viral, and the response proved that audiences connect with sincerity.
Now, Vivek Oberoi, SS Rajamouli and other prominent personalities are urging people to watch Ramayana.
But here's the uncomfortable question:
Can celebrity endorsements manufacture an emotional connection that the film itself must earn?
Music is the soul of Indian cinema. Look at Hanuman Ansh or Dhurandhar. Music elevated the cinematic experience.
Hans Zimmer and Allah Rakha Rahman have immense talent. But I wonder why a project as deeply rooted in Indian civilisation couldn't make greater use of the musical legacy that generations of Indians already associate with Ramayana.
Imagine a powerful, contemporary interpretation of Mangal Bhavan Amangal Haari. It could move millions. It could become a global sensation.
We Indians have always Indianised everything. Chinese food, pizza, pasta we give them our own identity.
Why are we doing the opposite with our own civilisation?
The world doesn't need a Westernised Ramayana. It wants to experience India.
A Westerner doesn't come looking for an Indian version of Hollywood. They come looking for something they cannot experience anywhere else.
And that is where I believe the makers have missed an extraordinary opportunity.
Ramayana is not just an epic fantasy about a battle between two powerful men. It is a story of Dharma versus Adharma, Maryada versus Ego, sacrifice versus desire.
Ravana was undoubtedly a powerful and complex character. But his power must never overshadow the moral purpose of the Ramayana.
We saw something similar with Padmaavat, where Khilji's character became such a cinematic spectacle that the villain often overshadowed the very story.
Giving Ravana grandeur is one thing. Glorifying or sanitising his Adharma is quite another.
You can make Ravana look magnificent. But never at the cost of making Rama's Dharma look ordinary.
I am sure Ramayana will attract audiences and may recover its enormous investment. I genuinely hope it does.
But box-office numbers and cultural impact are two different things.
Dhurandhar and Hanuman Ansh connected because audiences felt something.
Ramayana has the potential to become a global cultural phenomenon, not merely a blockbuster.
My only expectation is this:
Don't just make Ramayana 2 grand. Make it sacred in its intent.
Because Ramayana doesn't belong to a producer, a studio or a generation.
It belongs to civilisation.
And civilisation cannot be recreated through VFX alone.

Firstly, simping for asurs and justifying Ravan and somehow managing to showcase Ram and Lakshman as fearful of some random rakshas is not pro Hindu nor does it represent the story.
Our main problem with Bollywood has always been that they rarely make pro-Hindu films and have often pushed an Islamic narrative. So, when they finally make a film that represents our culture and actually do a good job, or at least make a sincere attempt, opposing it simply for the sake of opposition would be sheer stupidity.
I have opposed a particular actress in the past, and I still stand by my opinion. But I cannot bash an entire movie simply because she is part of it. For me, the cause is bigger than political opinions, personal preferences, or individual disagreements.
And seeing Ramayana being promoted even in Saudi Arabia, with posters reportedly appearing in public spaces, is a proud moment in itself. A story rooted in our Hindu scriptures reaching audiences in a country like Saudi Arabia speaks volumes about the global reach of our culture. This is the kind of cultural representation we should be celebrating.
So, to answer the question, "What changed?"
I was honestly expecting them to make another blunder. But somehow, they managed to do a good job, and my opinion changed accordingly. There is nothing wrong with acknowledging something good, even when you initially expected otherwise.
I want films based on our scriptures to be made every single year, so that the younger generation can learn about our history, culture, traditions, and the values we have inherited.
At the end of the day, the cause matters more than the cast. Our culture deserves to be celebrated beyond our borders.
Rest, I don't mind idiots being idiots, thinking they are somehow more Hindu than everyone else.
And yes, I know exactly which group is doing what. I've known your tricks for a long time. I just pretend not to notice because, honestly, you're too small to affect me...... You'll always be struggling with an identity crisis...!!!
I dont care about the budget, the scale, this was intentionally done to ruin and brainwash your story.
If you watch the movie, without knowing #Ramayana, you will feel like Ravan is hero and Ram/Gods are the villians, and this portyal is very much intentional.
So yes, STFU!
Aise to kuch bhi justify kar loge?
Grand scale par film banaya to Ravan ka glorification karna jaruri hai?
Mata Sita, Prabhu Ram ko aise dikhana jaruri hai?
Films can be grand and can stick to the story too.
Stop justifying nonsense just because it is grand

A true Hindu would neither watch the Ramayana movie nor would they promote it.
But if someone is doing so then they are not a Hindu.
They have sold their conscience for a few coins.
What a Shame !!

Fair point.
Modi wrapped up its war in 4 days. Cut its losses in the NEET issue, and later curbed the cockroaches peacefully. So far the they have been largely pragmatic. That’s why they continue to rule.
