$80B+ in DEX volume on Robinhood Chain in its first quarter on mainnet
$50M+ in chain fees
Meanwhile app crypto volume fell 48% YoY to $21B
Question is whether HOOD can maintain this through these low volume junk periods.

Robinhood reports Q3 tomorrow, 2 PM PT. First full quarter of Robinhood Chain.

Q3 is going to look great. Q4 is the one I'm watching.

Disclaimer: I am highly selective when I trade, so don't assume I have a position. I'll just be sharing what I learn 🫡
Blast's withdrawal window closes today.
In spring 2024 Blast had more DeFi TVL than Base. Peak: $2.26B vs Base's $1.64B (DefiLlama).
Today: Base ~$6.0B. Blast $7.4M.
Down goes another chain.
Blast will be shutting down.
We launched Blast with the goal of building a self-sustaining chain for users and developers. Unfortunately, the economics of operating the chain no longer make sense: the ongoing costs of maintaining Blast exceed the revenue generated by the L2, and we do not see a credible path to making the chain economically sustainable.
As a result, we've made the difficult decision to wind Blast down.
We're sorry to the users and developers who believed in Blast, built on it, and supported the ecosystem. Our priority now is making the shutdown as smooth and safe as possible.
We're asking all users to withdraw their assets from Blast to Ethereum mainnet, including any balances held in the Blast PWA.
To make this easier, we will be reducing the withdrawal delay to 24 hours.
As part of the shutdown process, we'll first begin withdrawing Blast's Lido assets. This process is expected to take approximately one week. During this period, withdrawals will temporarily be unavailable, even after the withdrawal delay is reduced to 24 hours.
Once that process is complete, withdrawals will resume with the new 24-hour delay.
Users will have until October 26, 2026 to withdraw through the normal Blast interface.
After October 26, assets will remain withdrawable, but users will need to interact directly with the Blast bridge contracts on Ethereum L1. We'll publish detailed instructions before then.
We strongly encourage everyone to withdraw their assets to Ethereum mainnet before October 26.

PERSONAL STORY: when your NFT starts remembering your mistakes
When I first came across Balances by @jackbutcher, I saw it as nothing more than a visual representation of the amount of $BALANCE in a wallet. But the more I look into how it works, the more interesting another aspect becomes.
The NFT records your behavior through metrics like Peak balance, Times emptied, and Returns from zero.
Imagine two wallets.
Wallet #1
Bought $BALANCE, gradually increased the position, and never emptied the wallet. Times emptied = 0. Just held.
Wallet #2
Bought, the market went down, and sold everything. Times emptied +1. Then came back. Returns from zero +1. And repeated the cycle several times.
Eventually, the NFT shows not just your balance, but the history of what you did with it.
This hits close to home for me after experiencing a drawdown of around 80%. In moments like that, you don't think about how it might look in an NFT someday. You're just trying to decide: sell or hold? Buy more or wait?
And if you end up selling everything, that decision doesn't just stay in your memory. It becomes part of your onchain history.
Balances doesn't know why you sold. But it knows that you did.
And that's what I like about @jackbutcher's idea.
Two wallets can have the same balance but completely different histories.
One: I held.
The other: I left. I came back. I left again.
Over time, that history becomes part of the artwork itself.
That's why I no longer see Balances as just an NFT that displays your balance. It's more like a visual onchain diary of what you did with that balance.

Gents.. what if it’s not getting better?

Tokenized stock volume on Robinhood Chain, per Bitwise:
July: $526M
Aug: $2.21B
Sept: $11.31B
~21x in two months. Meanwhile Microsoft, Alphabet and Goldman are among 16 companies objecting to their stock tokens on OKX x ICE's planned venue.
Issuers can opt out. Demand isn't.
WSX WATCH: Tokenized stock trading volume on Robinhood Chain surged from $526 million in July to $11.31 billion in September, according to Bitwise’s latest quarterly staking report.
The sharp increase highlights accelerating activity around tokenized equities as blockchain-based access to traditional financial assets gains traction.
The growth puts @RobinhoodApp’s onchain ecosystem in focus, as tokenized stocks emerge as a key area of convergence between traditional finance and decentralized markets.
