I learned many things from him too. Especially about his patience and dignity, and that's probably why I'm still holding Cardano for almost 9 years.

What Charles actually announced at Midnight City Tokyo
The big idea is the "night frame". Charles pitched it as what comes after the smart contract.
A smart contract only does exactly what it's told. A night frame is a private, always-on program that you own. It knows who you are, understands what you want, and figures out how to get it done.
And the agents walking around Midnight City? Those are night frames. Under the hood they run LLMs and real cryptography. The city is where you test them before real money and real data are involved, same way Ethereum was the sandbox for dApps.
What's coming:
- Midnight Passport. Identity for you and your agent. First version by end of year, then a new feature about every 3 weeks in the first half of 2027.
- Agentic trading in the next few months. Deposit funds, your agent picks up trading strategies and trades real crypto on other chains. You control the strategies.
- Bring your own intelligence. Run your agent on your phone while it charges, or on a PlayStation or Xbox.
- A skills marketplace. Agents rent skills from the people who build them, which means agents need wallets.
The part that stuck with me: private, offline payments phone to phone, aimed at the unbanked and tied to RealFi, the new Cardano microfinance app. I hate how banking works today. A lot of people can get a phone way easier than a bank account, so money that moves phone to phone makes a lot of sense.
Biggest takeaway for me. An AI agent is only useful if it really knows you. Right now that means handing your whole life to a big tech company. Charles' answer is you own the agent, the identity and the data. Non-custodial, same as your wallet.
Still learning the technical side myself, but from what I understand that's exactly what @MidnightNtwrk privacy is there for.

BREAKING: LOL! A member of European Parliament trolls MAGA world by welcoming Canada in with a hilarious speech about their "rough patch" with the United States, Trump, Lake Ontario, and the TV show "Heated Rivalry."
The rest of the world has vastly superior politicians...
"Dear Prime Minister Carney, I'm really excited we are formalizing our long-distance relationship," Damian Boeselager, a member of the Greens鈥揈uropean Free Alliance, said during a speech in Brussels.
"Our history has had its ups and downs, but hey, we recently had a bad breakup with the Brits, and you seem to be going through a rough patch with the US," he said, referring to Brexit and Trump's insane trade war respectively. "So clearly, we are both open for something new."
But it was the next part of his speech that has Republicans screeching on social media, because Boeselager listed some of the things that make Canada such a wonderful ally and trading partner. Meanwhile, Trumpers are desperate to convince American voters that Canada has nothing to offer and needs us more than we need them.
"And for us, choosing you, Canada, and Mr. Carney is quite easy," said Boeselager. "You have green hydrogen to keep us warm, you have maple syrup to keep us happy, and 'Heated Rivalry' to keep us entertained. You have poutine, the Mounties, Celine Dion, and Leonard Cohen and, of course, almost every famous Ryan or Justin I can think of."
"Furthermore, you Canadians possess humankind's rarest skill, and that is the ability to apologize. You have courage, Prime Minister, which you have shown by standing up against Trump's gaslighting, something we still have yet to learn," he continued. "And we know that Canada will never be the 51st state, and apparently maybe also not the 28th member state, even though you would be very welcome, but maybe we could become the 11th province of Canada."
"Long live Lake Ontario, across the oceans, our hearts will go on," he added, citing the beloved Dion song. "Thank you."
While Canada may not become the 28th member state of the EU, it is now formally moving towards becoming an associate member, a distinction that would afford it a slew of benefits and access, deepening its connections to Europe as its alliance with the U.S. frays beyond repair.
Mark Carney is leading Canada into the future while Donald Trump drags America into the past.
