Happy Birthday, PK Sir!  People will speak of many things when they speak of you. But what stays with me are the quieter things — the way you listen, the way you remember, and most importantly, the way you turn someone’s words into action. Deepika, captain of the Indian Women’s Blind Cricket team, once spoke to you about the road to her village. You listened. And you acted. An elderly woman once asked you to return to her home. Years later, you remembered that promise — and you went back. When women who work with their hands needed something as simple as reading glasses, you made sure they had them. You listen. You remember. And then you act. Having witnessed this side of you personally, I know these gestures come from somewhere much deeper than recognition or applause. They come from genuine empathy — the kind that doesn’t need to be announced. Perhaps that is what compassion really is: not grand gestures, but empathy in motion.
