Tuesday is National Superhero Day 🦸♀️ We think it’s a fitting day to honor the superheroes at #UNC and @UNC_Health_Care who are bravely fighting COVID-19. Thank a hero Tuesday by wearing Carolina blue and posting a pic with the hashtag #CarolinaHeroes!

Want to know a secret? Even we dermatologists sometimes shrug our shoulders and say “well, let’s try a topical steroid and see what happens.”
So I'm helping a kid I know with some college applications and I have some thoughts. My friend has a GPA of over 4.0 and a star in track and cross-country. She grew up Black in a white rural town in CA--oh and she's homeless. She's living with a friend's family.

👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 THIS!!!!! So much love for this tweet! Also- again: Test & PrEP. #endthestigma
1/ A dear friend called me yesterday to talk how he had anal sex without a condom 24 hours earlier. He wanted advice on if he should be worried. He used phrases like: "I did something stupid" "I know I'm being paranoid" "I know I'm a hypochondriac"

They travel down the same road. Test & PrEP!
If you see one STI, or there is concern for one, test for HIV and offer them PrEP.

If you haven’t watched @ReeseW Netflix special #ShineOn, you’re missing out. This is exactly what I needed today.
Guys... we don’t have to wait for pumpkins, trees or eggs anymore! @reeses has started to just market the delicious blobs. Bravo. Job well done.

No one walks in knowing everything! Thanks for sharing!
Attendings, let’s help new docs out. Sometimes they feel confused and overwhelmed by all they don’t know or get wrong. Please share the funny/embarrassing misconceptions you had when in training so they know 1) they’re not alone and 2) it gets better. Mine in comments!

Still suffer from #MidwesternPride BRB... Laughing through chattering teeth right now...
Midwestern pride is suffering through a 40 degree day in October with a hoodie because you don’t want to give winter the satisfaction of getting your winter coat out yet

TFW the like button just isn’t enough. ❤️❤️❤️
I spent 4 years of residency learning from MD faculty, but also PA/NP colleagues. It’s laughable that they now present patients to me. I listen and offer my opinion. Occasionally I get to teach something. But just as often I learn from them. Interprofessional education is 360.

Had so much fun taking over the @UNC_PA Instagram today! Excited by the questions the future PA students submitted today... Current students are doing so well... Amazed by my fellow UNC grads... The future of PAs is so bright we gotta wear shades! 😎 #PAweek

I don’t know who needs to hear this but...
Being harassed or bullied at work does not mean that you’ve done anything wrong or that you are underperforming. On the contrary, it often means you’re standing out and excelling at such a high level that someone else feels threatened by your success.
Dear #GirlMedTwitter, Am I the only one who looks like this when looking for the ultrasound for some #POCUS? #HocusPocus #Tistheseason

Where do PAs work? They work in hospitals, medical offices, community health centers, nursing homes, retail clinics, educational facilities, workplace clinics, and correctional institutions and serve in the military. #PAWeek
