sometimes when I Really Think about Delhi, it makes me want to cry. I have never hated a city more, but I have also never loved any city the way I love Delhi.

Replying to @vigstar1
saw your chat with @brexton too btw, do you think the eventual equilibrium for consumer ai is just bimodal across
Saving money and entertainment?
related, a funny take:

my fav pet theory is that like most successful consumer products, successful consumer AI companies will also eventually map themselves to at least 1 of the 7 sins
greed: I want more than I have (polymarket)
pride: I want people to think highly of me (linkedIn)
envy: I want what someone else has (instagram)
lust: I want to be desired (bumble)
gluttony: I want much more of what I already enjoy (netflix)
sloth: I want things done without the effort (uber)
wrath: I want somewhere to channel my anger (reddit)
i'd argue most of the consumer AI discourse today is around making workflows more efficient - which seems to be tapping into just sloth!

purely anecdotal but been seeing genz around me deactivate insta & gravitate towards consuming more long form videos/essays/books, while boomers are becoming the reels generation
with whatever’s happening in the country - there’s never been a better time to reread “why am i an atheist”

🚨 BREAKING
Printing presses across Delhi are reportedly refusing to print posters and other materials for tomorrow’s protest, allegedly due to police pressure. When even printing protest posters becomes a problem, it shows just how far the authorities are willing to go to suppress dissent. Shameful!
how i used instinct for my last trip:
1/ verified my eta was actually approved (no confirmation email existed - caught it on the govt site)
2/ auto arranged my tickets, boarding passes, hotel bookings, visa and everything else into a drive folder
3/ messaged my hotel before arrival + negotiated on my behalf + got me a late checkout
4/ actively stopped me from withdrawing cash on my credit card abroad
5/ caught a new mandatory health declaration for my return before the airline reminded me
6/ answered mid-trip stuff bec it had my larger context: on meds, drinks, surf rashes, breakfast inclusions, etc

as @BadCapitalVC once told me - most theses are retrospective (they're an outcome of investing)
while the biggest use case qcomm has solved for me is gifting, it’s v hard to shake off the guilt of sending someone a gift from blinkit
it’ll always seem a less thoughtful - despite the end product being the same as what you'd have picked up from a store / bought on ecomm
please check fatdogsofdelhi insta page to make your day 1000x better (they’re running a fattest dog competition??)

perks of having super smart friends: you’re never out of substacks and essays to read. if you don’t follow her on substack, you should. and read it, of course. really good stuff.
