#Libraries are more than books. They’re hubs for learning, creativity, and connection! Celebrate National Library Lover’s Month by sharing what you love most. 📖❤️ #NationalLibraryLoversMonth

Yes, I am 🤓 A DESE study published in 2023 found that Missouri schools with a full time librarian have significantly higher proficiency rates on state assessments. But, don’t take my word for it. The data makes an undeniable case for the truth #SPSlib

The subtlety between system support and micromanagement often depends on how much the organization allows leaders to become their best selves.

Felt a bit disheartened yesterday when several visitors to our school spoke to me in a really patronising tone as if working in a library was ‘soo cute’ 🙄
How do we alter this perspective and make people realise #schoollibrarians don’t just sit and read books all day?

I think some of THIS is learned through years of experience. I’ve left bulletin boards blank for #meettheteacher and the first month. Everything doesn’t have to be done that first week, you can put off projects or shove stuff in drawers- it’s ok. #teachertip

Yes! And I’ve taught I’m places where it’s not a duty free lunch and/or it’s not 30min and/or you have to get your kids situated before you leave aka also not 30min.
Eating where and however long I want during the summer is one thing I look forward to so much!

Oh my goodness I know so many people that would be into this AND the teacher in me would loveeeee that 👏🏻👏🏻🤞

Such a cliche, this is not ok. Would you say this about someone in advertising? or accounting? or retail? No, no you wouldn’t. Your words especially in a position of power really matter.

Sometimes you have to find your own #professionaldevelopment. I've reread "First Days of School" 3+ times. All new teacher should be given it - has practical things to do. Can read through but take notes or bring post its. #edchat
