If only @scribd was more honest in their marketing. “You’ll get 4 audiobooks per month that you want to listen to. After that we’ll give you access to a few random books that no-one has any interest in listening to & block you from all the rest”. That would at least be honest.

I seriously don't get people who are like, "No pets allowed in Zoom." If my students have a pet and it doesn't make an appearance, I'm marking it as absent so it has to come see me during lunch.

A quick way to check whether you are *ACTUALLY* open-minded: count how many friends you have that fundamentally disagree with you on stuff that matters. If you don't get to the other hand, you might need to interrupt your tribalistic tendencies.

The #WCMT2020 Tribute to Mercédès Pavlicevic will be starting shortly. We hope you will join us to celebrate the life and work of Mercédès. She has profoundly influenced many of us in the field in so many ways, not to mention her influence on the field of music therapy itself.

#PoliceBrutality #BlackLivesMatter Well done to Americans for standing up for justice. In SA: soldiers allegedly beat a man death in Alex. A Somali national is beaten to death allegedly by cops in Ga-Rankuwa. A woman is beaten up by metro cops in Ekhuruleni. And we are silent?

Pandemonium—“all the demons.” Ah. That’s it. What a host of demons the pandemic has been revealing: not supernatural spooks but hellish systems of collective oppression, of normalized injustice—normally hidden, like all smart demons, in plain view.
