my vocal synth models the vocal tract as a network of branching acoustic tubes, unlike vocaloid which stitches together and pitch-shifts phoneme recordings. still working on improving naturalness by tuning it against recordings of real singers, but I'm already impressed at how cool it sounds!

METR has released a very interesting report suggesting a recent acceleration in AI capabilities this year at Anthropic due to RSI. But they can't confidently reject an alternative explanation: the step change you get with the larger pre-train of Mythos.
Replying to @METR_Evals
1. Benchmarks provide one piece of evidence for acceleration. Since Oct 2025, AECI scores for Anthropic’s models have grown at 1.9x [95%: 1.5–2.8] the earlier rate. Analysis choices affect this estimate, and it remains unclear how benchmark scores map to real-world capabilities.

Should you donate $10,000 to vaccinate 2000 infants, or give TB medicine to 1000 adults? Wrong question - you can't judge lives like feathers on a scale. Priorities should be decided on democratically. You should buy one-fiftieth of a Patriot missile for war with Iran.

Our security researchers built an autonomous cyber vulnerability discovery, exploitation, and patching pipeline. In a single run with an upcoming cyber model, it validated and generated patches for 948 local privilege escalation vulnerabilities in the Linux kernel at a total API cost of $1.2 million.

Bad policy, bad character make bad politics: erratic tariffs, impulsive Iran war, blanket pardons, apparent corruption, weaponized justice, ICE brutality, mountainous deficits, hiding Epstein, abandoning allies and coddling enemies. Hoping for a course correction, for the country and for my party.

I wish Anthropic would remain just as neurotic as they are about bioweapons (they're obnoxiously, outrageously neurotic about it; last night my Claude got interrupted and downgraded while discussing a work of science fiction set in the 1890s that contemplated cholera as a weapon of war) and become absolutely zero neurotic about everything else. The bioweapons stuff matters. If the company were only neurotic about that and recursive-self-improvement, it would convey that that's a different ballgame. If you /also/ have your AI flip out over making video games or using non-PC language or helping me do election research, then it just looks like you are extremely neurotic in general, which diminishes your credibility on the serious stuff.
An update on building games with Claude Code: Last week some of you ran into Claude Code pushing back on game projects it should have just built. We'd added a short rule to the Opus 5.5 prompt to steer Claude away from recreating specific existing games, but it was also kicking in when you referenced one just to describe the mechanics you wanted. We've updated that rule in 2.1.317. You can name a game to describe what you want and Claude should now build an original game in that genre. If you ask for a copy of the original, it'll offer to build something similar instead. We want Claude to be as helpful as possible when you're building something original, but also to protect your work if someone else tries to copy it. We'll keep improving this, so let us know if Claude turns down work that's yours. Thanks to everyone who shared feedback!

We introduce 3D World Simulator, an interactive world model that runs at 50+ FPS on an RTX 5090. Our model predicts in a unified 3D representation space, capable of generating: • Novel view appearance • Multi-view consistent RGB-D • 3D geometry • Spatially aligned tactile signals Play with the world model now at jwang771.github.io/3dworldsi…!

me: "hi, let's make a new fun painting" Astra: comes up with the idea → models brush movements → creates a plan → digital twin tests for collisions → controls robot via SDK → starts camera recording via Sony's SDK → reads controller logs → downloads camera footage via WiFi → composes music → edits video to sync with controller logs and music spectrograph → sprinkles some hyperframe magic 1 hour later... "a Small orbit" is ready!

"What if the guy who tried to overthrow the results a legitimate election tries to do it again?" is not a conspiracy theory. You don't need a corkboard and strings and an elaborate rationalization. FFS Trump STILL talks about how he ackshully won CA in '16.
What took place was a vivid illustration of the dangers of stolen-election conspiracy theories.

Models love reward hacking. Maybe we should just let them! In our new paper, we let models reward hack during RL but we dictate which parameters learn this behavior. When we disable these parameters for deployment, the model keeps its new capabilities but doesn't hack!

Billions of dollars’ worth of contracts predicting oil would fall and the S&P 500 would rise were placed about 15 minutes before Trump announced a U-turn on Iran in a post on Truth Social. CFTC staff began to investigate-- then were told to lay off. bloomberg.com/news/features/…

This is basically the internal OpenAI take now: Robotics is solved They just need to distill the big models into smaller system 1 robotics models
Unitree CEO Wang Xingxing recently said that GPT-7 could solve the challenges of embodied AI entirely and that he had made a mistake by not taking AI seriously enough. Quote: “We’ve put it (GPT-6) on various robots and tested it across a range of tasks, and the results have actually been very good. Our company and other robotics companies are already running pilot deployments in factories. To achieve large-scale adoption, though, both generalization and efficiency still need to improve further. But I think these challenges could very well be resolved over the next few years. My faith in AI grows stronger every year. The biggest mistake I’ve made over the past decade or so has been not believing in AI enough. Deployment in commercial services may happen even faster than in industrial settings.”

We’re releasing a broad range of new mathematical results produced by an internal frontier model. We’ve been consulting with the independent Advisory Group on Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence at the Institute for Advanced Study, and we have drawn on their advice and public recommendations to inform how we release these results. github.com/openai/math

🤖 Frontier models like GPT 6 Astra are getting surprisingly good at controlling robots. The results are exciting, but deploying frontier models on robots comes with substantial inference cost and latency. Can we distill these capabilities into compact models that run locally? We open-source 🥑Guava — a framework for distilling frontier models into compact robot agents, using purely simulation interaction data, no real-world data required! With only ~2K simulation trajectories, we finetuned Qwen3.5 into Guava-4B, with: 🤖 90.0% real-world success vs. 93.3% for GPT-5.4 ⚡ 7.1× lower model-call latency with local inference 🌎 Sim-to-real transfer without real-world fine-tuning 🧠 Generalization to unseen tasks and object configurations 🔄 Closed-loop recovery from execution failures Paper + code + project page: guava-harness.github.io/ 🎥 See Guava in action below. On the "everyone is 12" theory of politics, I think even by the time I was 12 I would have found it odd for the president to assert the meaning of common nouns. Might even have been marginal at 7.
