A Q' Warship that swore to secrecy during the Second World War, #HMSFidelity - still to this day its objectives were never released in the public domain. My late great Uncle sadly went down with this vessel after being struck by German U-Boat U-435

🚨 NEW: The Government's "Black Sky" contingency plans for a national water or power blackout
- Around 100 BBC staff would be deployed to run an emergency RM radio studio stocked with enough food, water and fuel to keep it running for 3 days
- The BBC would broadcast pre-written Government scripts through the studio, including how to ration water, what to do if toilets stop working and which food to eat first (see scripts below)
- Radio masts would switch to diesel generators to keep broadcasts going for up to 72 hours without electricity
- BBC teams would use satellite phones to stay in contact, with agreed meeting points and backup arrangements if those phones stop working
- They would also report from emergency centres across the UK using satellite-equipped BBC vehicles to help keep information flowing to the public
- Emergency services would have alternative ways to communicate if mobile phone networks stopped working
- The Government is putting £70m towards aircraft that could restore mobile phone and internet coverage across the UK for over a week

Mighty Dragon beast mode! Check out this Chinese J-20 coming in to land loaded with eight PL-15 ultra-long-range BVRAAMs. Stealth is impressive, but showing up with this kind of firepower sends an unmistakable powerful message.

The real reason for #RIAT to move location from #Fairford - The #ArmyAirCorp blew the airfield up last year 👀🚁💥

Learjet 60 (N722BD) taking off from Naples Airport In December.
Interestingly, this is the same aircraft, operated by the same Pilots, that was involved in the fatal crash in Florida two days ago.

At what point do we stop focusing on who needs to pay more tax and start asking where all of our tax money is going.

The Italian air force released these images of their fighter jets escorting a Ryanair flight into Rome airport after a bomb threat.
It was one of two flights from Dublin that were affected by a wave of fake bomb threats around Europe

Thoughts are with all 9 people who never came back.
Flying through such conditions whilst plummeting at excessive speed.
As much as I have a passion for aircraft, Its a risk
in their own hands just like driving a car.
Take each day as it comes, love one another.
Always.

Writing this in my personal capacity, but I have been flying these types of aircraft for more than 20 years, with over 8,000 hours, and have reasonable familiarity with how the charter world operates. I feel compelled to post after seeing commentary about the Lear 60 crash, from missile strikes to DEI to critiquing this poor woman’s final radio calls.
That last part is what I find most troubling. She was the second-in-command (SIC), and while she was empowered to point out mistakes as part of good crew resource management, she was doing her job, communicating with ATC right to the end in a terrifying situation. She likely knew before many of those calls that she was going to die. I have heard final calls from friends, from military pilots with thousands of hours in fighter aircraft, and they are just as heartbreaking because they know the end is approaching.
I understand the public interest given the footage and audio. But you do not know the aircraft’s maintenance history, whether there was a structural failure, if any failure was induced by turbulence, overspeed, or overcontrol, or everything happening in that cockpit. I am sure weather will be part of the investigation, but beyond that, it is speculation. The charter industry routinely hires commercial pilots very early in their careers to gain experience alongside an ATP-qualified captain before they move up to the airlines. She would still have the appropriate training, qualifications, and checkouts by an FAA examiner or designee.
Let people investigate, learn, and share the facts. Be respectful to those who perished and the families who carry their memories. God bless them and their loved ones.
