New on our Frontier Red Team blog: using Claude to formally verify software at large scale.
Formal verification can prove that code is free of certain bugs, but historically it has only been feasible for small codebases (or required a lot of expert time).
With AI models, however, this is beginning to change. In collaboration with @theoremlabs, we used Claude to prove security properties in over one hundred real-world open-source libraries over the span of a few weeks.

How do you _guarantee_ your agent's code is correct? You prove it.
Introducing Proof Driven Development Kit (PDD Kit) from @MSFTResearch.
PDD Kit helps turn your plan into a formal spec, then proves the agent's code meets that spec for every input. No vibe verification. PDD Kit is integrated with @GitHubNext's Chopin, so you can plan as a team.
PDD Kit takes an app's login flow from intent to a verified pull request:
It discusses your code, infers your intent as it goes, and proposes a formal spec in Verus, a proof language for Rust.
Once you approve the spec, the Verus verifier automatically proves the code meets it.
Where proof isn't possible, it falls back to empirical verification with tests and computer-use agents (CUAs).
It works on Rust today. No new language, no change in how you produce the underlying code, making formal methods more accessible.
The goal is a verified software factory, where engineers review specifications instead of code.
Come see it in action at GitHub Universe, Oct 28–29. Swing by the Speakeasy and ask for GitHub Next!

In the latest uv release, you can now install from a uv lockfile alone, without a pyproject.toml.
This is designed for efficient layer-caching: changes to the pyproject.toml no longer invalidate your dependency layers.

We are thrilled to announce that RustFS has officially reached General Availability (GA) with the release of version 1.0.0! 🚀
Back in February 2024, we wrote our very first line of code. In July 2025, we officially went open source. And today, we are proud to go GA.
Along the way, we've achieved some incredible milestones:
⭐ Over 32K GitHub Stars
🐳 More than 10 million pulls on Docker Hub
🌍 Over 2.7 million installations worldwide
🤝 Contributions from 180+ global contributors
🏆 Honored to become a member of the NVIDIA Inception Program
The release of 1.0.0 marks a new beginning for RustFS. We look forward to receiving even more feedback from our global community to help us continue improving and evolving RustFS.

Introducing CUDA Rust!
CUDA Rust lets you write GPU kernels natively in Rust, not just launch them from it.
Two paths: cuda-oxide for SIMT kernels compiled to PTX, and cutile-rs for Tile-based programming on stable Rust. Both can catch aliasing errors at compile time.

After co-inventing ChatGPT, I kept asking myself: why have superhuman chat models not led to AGI?
I’ve spent the last 2 years in stealth building a new way to train models (RLCD), and a new type of frontier AI model that we are releasing today: Jev
• 20-200x faster
• 40-400x cheaper (w/ output tokens free)
• Frontier composable intelligence optimized for decisions
AFAICT the shortest path to AI-based economic revolution

166,700 fruit fly neurons just took over 3 drones, and nobody taught them to fly.
Scientists mapped the full brain of 1 real fly, every neuron and all 25 million connections, and put it online for free.
Someone copied that brain 3 times and plugged each copy into a drone.
No flight code, no gesture presets, no "avoid the chair" rule, just a camera feeding the fly's eyes and neurons turning into throttle.
1 drone hovers, 1 slips past a chair, 1 drops to the floor and holds.
This brain spent 350 million years learning to stay in the air, and now it's back where it belongs.
No GPUs, no training run, no $100B data center, just a brain smaller than a grain of salt.
1 fly gives you 3 pilots, and 1,000 flies give you a swarm.
The fly is dead, but its brain just got a squadron.
166,700 fruit fly neurons are flying a drone around my bedroom.
1 camera watches my open hand and that's the whole input.
The panel in the middle is the brain running live 166,700 neurons, 25 million connections, the full reconstructed map of a fruit fly's head.
Camera reads the hand, the brain fires, the output becomes throttle.
Open palm and it climbs, fist and it holds, drop the hand and it comes down.
4 propellers the size of a coin hanging off a nervous system that belonged to an insect.
The honest part this is a computational model, not a resurrected fly, the wiring is biological, the drone is mine, I built the bridge between them.
I never wrote flight logic, no PID tuning, no gesture presets, I gave the neurons somewhere to send the signal and they found the ceiling.
11 seconds in, it holds altitude on its own.
The fly is dead and it's still flying.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The post exaggerates hobbyist demos of a simulated fruit fly connectome (a static wiring map) loosely controlling toy drones via custom input mappings and output decoding; it is not untrained biological neurons or literal "takeover."

For the first time, scientists have mapped the complete brain and central nervous system of an adult male fruit fly — a key model organism in science. 🪰
Working alongside HHMI Janelia Research Campus and the scientific community, @GoogleResearch scientists and researchers used AI to combine millions of 2D images into 3D neural shapes, reconstructing a record-breaking 166,000+ neurons. This foundational map of the adult male fruit fly brain can help accelerate our understanding of the brain, and is a major milestone in neuroscience.
