California hasn't built its bullet train because the state has required 130,000 pages of environmental reports, making absurd demands like:
• counting bumblebees one by one
• rebuilding woodrat stick huts
• hiring specialized dogs to sniff lizard scat

If America had built 1,000 nuclear reactors by 2000 and continued expanding, nuclear power would supply ~90% of our electricity today, even with dramatically higher demand from electrification.
We wouldn’t just have cheaper, abundant electricity. We’d have an entirely different industrial economy. Never forget what they stole from you.
Ralph Nader, 1997: “When we came out against nuclear power in the early '70s, the government had predicted that there would be 1,000 nuclear plants by the year 2000 in the United States, and there's 109 and shrinking, as more and more get shut down.” pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline…

We are living through a spiritual holocaust for the genuine and gentle-hearted. Never before has the world so perfectly punished all that is best in the human soul, and so rewarded the opposite. This is the age of the psychopath.
The thing that makes me saddest is how well most people seem to adapt as we continue to slide into this hell. If they're actually adapting, then that's fucked that the average person has the capacity to be so cold. If they're just pretending to, they're letting their own status-signaling outweigh the good they could do by speaking out.

I just want to echo this best invention of 2026 for the @aura_frames eink
It shows one picture a day. And sits on a ledge on the stairs since it doesn’t require a plug. Each day’s picture becomes a conversation in our home about the memory.

This is a huge deal. It’s like getting a near-frontier AI model for free. It’s like they gave you Claude Opus 4.7 for free.
A lot of developers think they should use models like Opus 5.5 or GPT-6 Sol for all their tasks.
But the amount of value you can get from models like DeepSeek-v4.1 Flash is immense.
It also points to another important reality: innovations in model architecture and inference technology will gradually drive the cost of good-enough AI models to near-zero.
This will level the playing field for most tasks.
