My views in Kannada :

Since yesterday, some lunatics are targetinge for using a real life example to highlight how the poor are bearing the brunt of language wars while the same people don't speak anything against the rich. I suggested introducing 30 min classses in offices for Kannada. They have nothing to say on this. Because their real intention is to spread hatred and not work towards a solution. Not even one of these people ever go and speak to a poor worker, let alone politely and then they expect that they should learn Kannada. How will they if there is no one talk to. If you are so keen, you should talk and assimilate with them . Calling my post a fake story won't help. True Kannadigas see through it, the hatred machine sees otherwise. You decide where you stand today.

Update : Bengaluru Police has reached out seeking details of the victim. I've politely declined for now as it's more like a family issue which was immediately resolved by the intervention of the fellow residents. I didn't know it would blow up. It will unnecessarily create problems for the people involved and the society too. Further, I have sought their advice to keep or delete this post. I'll keep you posted. Ours is a small society and we love our peace. Can't disturb it.

That is the question - do you interact with them ? How many times do you ask a security guard - Hegiddiya ? Oota ayitha ? Hendati makkalu heggiddare ? If you did, they would know those sentences. You don't interact.... You just want them to serve in your language. Correct yourself. Even now, in your own words, you "demand" . It's people like you who are the problem.

I've always suggested one thing. If somebody is really interested in making others learn Kannada, why don't they ask companies to introduce 30 min Kannada classes during working hours at offices. Make practical demands. Why target the poor people unnecessarily? How difficult is the above demand ? In fact, mu first job was at an Australian bank. Australian english is different from British/American English particularly the slangs. Thqt bank used to arrange a 30 min class for all of us everyday during working hours to familiarise us with Australian english and train us on cultural sensitivities. Kannada organisations donnot want to make such demands because if its implemented, their businesses will go down but as a Kannadiga, you think if this is right or wrong. Everyone will be happy to learn Kannada.
