Here are thoughts from the community: $APP: The Speculation on Applications and Memes Regarding the mass adoption of blockchain, there have been two main viewpoints. The first is to leverage blockchain’s technological features to build decentralized applications (dApps) that attract users who oppose censorship and believe in democracy. The second viewpoint is to attract users who love meme culture and are passionate about fair distribution by issuing meme coins with a fair launch, thus building a community. In this cycle, people have gradually realized that many projects, which claim to be decentralized and Web3, are actually schemes where VCs and project parties collude to acquire bottom-tier tokens with the goal of dumping them for huge profits once the tokens are listed. More and more people are tired of the first viewpoint and are turning towards the second, focusing on meme culture. This is why we see the prominent performance of meme coins in this cycle. However, meme coins also have their own issues. They have become a playground for cables and scams. CZ, the founder of Binance @cz_binance tweeted to state, "Meme coins are getting a little weird now. Let’s build real applications using blokchain." Inspired by this, Ian, the director of the largest node 48club on BSC @48ClubIan , built $APP on the BNB Chain, a meme coin with fair distribution and named after "application". $APP isn’t really about building a decentralized application. It represents an idea — Memes are also an application of blockchain. $APP is not a meme about an animal or celebrity. It is a blockchain philosophical meme, trying to resolve the debate of “application or meme.” Whenever people criticize meme tokens as merely about money and emotions, they should think of "application"—and the idea that memes are an essential application of blockchain. $APP tokenizes this idea, and this is the essence of $APP.
