- tax rebates for the working class up to $1,300 (making under $150k per year)

- banned conversion therapy
- red flag laws for guns
- universal background checks for guns
- automatic voter registration
- free public college (under $80k)
- ban on PFAS (forever chemicals)
- $2.2 billion increase in k-12 school funding
- sectoral bargaining for nursing home workers

🚨 A federal judge in PA has DENIED plaintiff ATS Tree Services’ motion to block the FTC’s rule banning worker noncompete agreements.
Starting September 4, virtually all noncompete agreements across the country will be void. Big win for the FTC and tens of millions of workers.

The jury in Epic v Google deliberated for 4hrs before unanimously deciding Google is an illegal monopolist.
Meanwhile, it’s been 6 months since proceedings ended in the Google Search case, and Judge Mehta has yet to issue a decision.

Crypto is a security, even when sold in secondary markets. More bad news for Ripple, who are staring down a tough fight on a likely appeal, as Terraform and now Coinbase have lost on this exact point.

States then suggested maybe the real answer is 3) The default contract with Apple has to be huge because they are actually paying Apple to stay out of the search market. That's one clear way it would justify being so expensive.

Going further, states argued that if Google's previous arguments are correct, their search engine is so much better for users, and monetizes so much better, Apple has no leverage in these negotiations. Did Pichai ever suggest Apple should get *less* money from Google? No.

We do know it includes a provision stating that Apple must limit its own answering of search queries to a system "substantially similar" to status quo 2016. Pichai claims this means Apple can do "whatever it wanted" w its own search product. But that is not supported by the docs.

DOJ argues more narrowly that the effect of the agreement is in part to prevent Apple from entering search. On that, there seems to be a factual dispute about the meaning of the contract, but we the public can't see the contract. I assume/hope Judge Mehta can!
