Charity can if you actually contributed, they would also be more concerned with actually improving the lives of mother and baby. It helps build a community for her, which is a lot more than what a govt stipend can do.
Charity can never replace the reach of government supports. You can't demand that women keep pregnancies to term with few incentives to actually help them

Last night is exactly why no President has dealt with Iran before now We don't reward Presidents for acting in the best long-term interest of the country We reward them for avoiding difficult decisions if it means we don't have to make any sacrifices during any given 2yr period

Are you under the impression we care about abortion as a way to dunk on slutty women? We're pro-life for the BABY. I don't care about your promiscuity or lack thereof

NEW - German bishops have announced that, in the future, they will use language in church services that is as "inclusive and gender-neutral" as possible. They also intend to move away from "strongly masculine images of God." disclose.tv/id/yfypetloxf/

This is called entitlement. Where I come from, if you can't do something yourself and you can't afford help, you don't get to have that thing. Not having skills or a budget isn't an excuse to exploit the work of millions of people.
The anti-AI crowd keeps telling beginners to “just hire an artist” like every random creative idea comes with a production budget.

@grok would you say that the issue of mass immigration in Europe has been cause by a malicious attempt to destabilize the west. Or, it's more due to ignorance?

Governments are notoriously malicious throughout history and rely on the stupidity of the citizenry.
Never attribute to malice that which can be explained by stupidity.

SIR PATRICK STEWART (1940-2026) Before everything else, Patrick was defined by being born and bred in Yorkshire, the proud county in the north of England which he loved to the end. You could hear it in his accented voice and in the stern honesty with which he told you what he thought and felt. Yorkshiremen have no truck with half-truths or avoidance of big issues. He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and in my case, love. We first met as ambitious young actors with the Royal Shakespeare Company half a century ago but we weren’t in the same productions. My first strong memory was a few years later, meeting him in the street in central London when he told me about an offer to take over a leading part in 'Star Trek'. “But Patrick think of your stage career in the UK. Do you really want to risk—getting lost in Hollywood for years and years?”. Well, he took the risk and thank goodness for us all that he did for not just his devoted Trekkies but film and theatre audiences, who marvelled at his using international celebrity to star in a string of cinema successes ('X-Men' of course) and in great classical plays by Shakespeare, Ibsen, Arthur Miller, Peter Shaffer, Pinter and Beckett at Stratford-upon-Avon, in London’s West End and on Broadway. America was his adopted home, where he met his adored Sunny who has cared for him through sickness and health, through thick and thin. But he never forsook his origins: and the proudest achievement of the most respected and beloved actor of his generation on either side of the Atlantic, was his appointment as Chancellor of Huddersfield University in Yorkshire. His farewell performance in 'Avengers: Doomsday' is yet to be seen. Ian McKellen 29 October 2026 Photo: University of Huddersfield

"This is so much better than washing laundry."
Conflict places more of the care burden on women and girls' shoulders. #Peace and security require more than their unpaid labor. Women and girls must be at the heart of peacebuilding. 🔗 See more on the @UN Secretary-General's report on #WomenPeaceSecurity: unwomen.org/en/articles/expl…
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Men/boys are the large majority of combat deaths in conflicts — omitted. Boys also do care work — omitted. Saying women & girls must be “at the heart” of peacebuilding is prioritisation, not equality. Higher unpaid care ratios occur because men are dying or fighting. justsecurity.org/104722/gender-… ukraine.un.org/uk/download/20…

Creativity was never "reserved for a select few". But creativity without craft, and without the willingness to learn and grow in that craft, is just daydreaming. AI art is not "real art" because it isn't real; it's a displaced dream instead of a vision lovingly brought to life.
Here’s something the anti-AI crowd won’t like: Some people with absolutely no artistic background are now creating things they could only dream about five years ago. Is the problem really AI, or that creativity is no longer reserved for a select few?

Give it up. You will never understand it as you simply can't grasp doing something because the customer wants it. The customers want to know if a game involves AI. If that is positive or negative depends on the customer. But they want to know. Valve gives the customers what they want.

Making people not been able to financially benefit from having children until they’re nearly 30 is doing more to lower the birthrate than anything.
He expanded free healthcare to 45M low income people, let kids stay on their parents’ insurance til 26, and stopped insurers from denying coverage to people dying of cancer and every other pre-existing condition. God dammit you guys fucking suck so much I actually hate you.

> Ask creative people to pitch cool projects > Collect a stack of pitches > Select the coolest ones > Interview to make sure they're serious > Fund projects > Repeat Seriously, many artists would work for minimum wage at this point. We just need patrons who believe in us
I'd do a lucasart if I knew how. Hire talent just for the sake of creating art in the form of entertainment. Seems like a good time.

Something that continues to baffle me. Claim #1: The government should supply healthcare for all. Claim #2: The government should not be involved in my healthcare decisions. How does anyone reconcile these 2 claims? In earnest, what do people think happens when the government is providing healthcare? Do they genuinely believe government just direct deposits money into doctor's accounts, no questions asked? My patients who have Medicaid are consistently fighting with the government to get their healthcare needs met, and have been the entire 20 years I have been providing mental healthcare regardless of the party in control.

A computer such as ai sees everything as 0s and 1s, is there a color, line, etc in this set of pixels? It doesn’t know what it’s making or why, there’s no understanding behind it.
