I was the remote. My dad would call out a channel and I would get up and change it. I was also responsible for adjusting the rabbit ears for picture quality. Torture lol

Emergency Mission to Stabilize
Code of Vets is partnering with Seminole County SVO to assist Kevin, who served 10 years in the Army, during the Desert Storm - Gulf War Era. Kevin was honorably discharged with 100% service related disability.
The rental home Kevin, his 64 y/o wife, and 13 y/o daughter live in, has been condemned by the county. He needs to make an emergency move, with very little warning.
The SVO explains that they have helped this vet secure a lease, but will need $3k to make it happen. This amount represents deposit + first & last months rent. This will be a one time assist, as the Seminole County SVO will be providing wrap around services.
Could you imagine serving your country, in its heyday, coming home disabled, then reach your elder years, only to have the rug ripped out from under you? Here’s where we jump in & make a real difference in 3 people’s lives!

Unless you are a retard member of @SanFranciscoLP whose hard drives need to be checked, no libertarian believes there shouldn't be laws against pedophilia (or sexual assault or theft or murder)! Get reked dimwits!
Replying to @AustinShiloh1 @JamesD444
Libertarian anarchists don't believe in any laws, so of course they/we don't believe in "age of consent" laws either.
Even non-anarchist Libertarians typically feel decisions about when to do adult things should be between young people and their parents/guardians, not the State.

HELLO?! 👇👇👇👇👇🔥
I simply can't fucking believe this is happening.
How the hell is the Islamisation of the world allowed to happen everywhere?
In Israel, of all places, a party whose Muslim leader refuses to recognise Hamas as a terrorist group has more seats in parliament than Jewish Israeli nationalists, after Hamas's massacre!!!!
In the US, Muslim Brotherhood candidates are running for the senate, with the full backing of the Democrats.
And, Western Europe is entirely captured by the Muslim Brother and Jihadists!
What the fucking hell is wrong with you all?
Are you so despicable and cowardly that you're literally allowing the scum of the earth yo take over your countries?
What the fuck is happening? Did you look at places like Iraq and Lebanon and decided "ah, we'd love to be like these countries"?
This is sickening!

Buc-ee’s is quietly hoping first-time visitors never learn how the store actually works.
Most people pull in for gas and a bathroom. They see the beaver logo, use the cleanest restroom they’ve ever seen at a gas station, buy a bag of Beaver Nuggets, fill the tank, and leave.
They never realize they just drove past: a 74,000-square-foot travel center the size of a Walmart. Brisket smoked fresh in-house that rivals dedicated BBQ restaurants. A car wash longer than a football field. 120+ gas pumps with some of the cheapest fuel prices on the highway because the business model isn’t about gas. A wall of homemade fudge cut to order. Kolaches baked fresh every morning. Jerky in 15+ flavors cut and seasoned in-store. A credit card with 5 cents off per gallon. Coffee stations with unlimited free customizations that turn a $1.50 cup into a $6 coffeehouse drink. A merchandise section larger than most clothing stores with items you can’t buy online, ever. And a deliberate store design with no seating, no trucks, no overnight parking, and no phone ordering all by choice, all for a reason.
A Texan who’s visited 30+ Buc-ee’s locations told me: “Out-of-staters stop for the bathroom. Texans stop for the brisket. But nobody not even most Texans understands the business model. Buc-ee’s isn’t a gas station. It’s a destination retail store that happens to sell gas. The gas gets you in the parking lot. The 74,000 square feet inside is where the money is made.”
Here are 11 things about Buc-ee’s most visitors never discover 🧵

This is the reason they are called Republicans In Name Only. We are weeding them out one by one, and their true colors are showing. I'm convinced that many are actually Democrats (communists) who have infiltrated a once great institution called the Grand Old Party for a reason. They are in favor of power over country. And they behave as petulant children.
Regardless of who wins the US Senate race from Texas this year, James Talarico or Ken Paxton, I will say this: The anti-Paxton people have done generational damage to whatever they think their brand of Republican or conservatism is.
They told us to hold our nose and vote for your candidates in the general and challenge them in the primaries. They told us our differences, even our concerns about their candidate's character, didn't matter.
We did as they asked.
Over and over and over again.
Because they needed our votes and the alternative was worse.
We're asking you to do what you told us to do: Hold your nose and vote for our candidates in the general and challenge them in the primaries.
You are refusing.
Over and over and over again.
In an election where the alternative is the worst it has ever been.
We'll remember that next time you need our votes.
And before you say it: You WILL need our votes. If you didn't, your Cornyn would have won the Primary and be cruising to an easy election and Democrats would be failing in elections all over the nation. That isn't happening, and that didn't happen. You think all the moderates you're alienating will vote for your candidates to make up for all the conservatives you're also alienating?
It's like RINO Inc is TRYING to make themselves utterly electorally non-viable by alienating literally everyone.

This is actually really cool. I’ve landed on this heliport on Marine One several times with Bill Clinton. Getting more than 2 helos in at a time is challenging. To say the least.
An airplane just landed at a heliport. In lower Manhattan. That is the @ElectraAero EL-2, the ultra-short takeoff and landing prototype aircraft. CEO Marc Allen said Monday it was the first time the manufacturer has shown the EL2’s capabilities publicly in such an environment.

The Social Security Administration confirmed a 3.6% COLA for 2027 on October 14. Federal law requires VA compensation and pension adjustments to match Social Security’s percentage, so affected VA benefits will rise by 3.6%, effective with December 2026 benefits paid in January 2027. va.gov

In memory of Sir Patrick Stewart (13 July 1940 – 28 October 2026)
He has gone where no one has gone before, and yet he remains.
Sir Patrick Stewart died yesterday at his home in Los Angeles, at the age of 86, in the care of his wife Sunny, after a brief journey with Alzheimer’s disease and Lewy body dementia. The announcement spoke of “the peaceful ease and reflection on his face, an enduring reminder of his invincible grace,” and of a life held in the warm embrace of family, friends, music, prayer, tears, and laughter.
That grace was hard-won. Born in Mirfield, Yorkshire, the son of a weaver and a war-scarred labourer, he grew up amid poverty and domestic violence. The stage became his refuge; an English teacher put Shakespeare in his hands and told him to stand up and perform. He left school at 15, worked as a journalist and furniture salesman, then trained at the Bristol Old Vic. The Royal Shakespeare Company claimed him for decades (kings, princes, Shylock, Macbeth), while Broadway and the West End followed. Knighthood in 2010 placed him among the theatrical giants he had idolized as a boy: Olivier, Gielgud, Guinness.
Then came the captain’s chair. In 1987 a classically trained British stage actor, little known in America, was asked to embody Jean-Luc Picard. He brought to the role the moral weight of Shakespearean leadership: measured, curious, compassionate, absolute when the moment demanded it. “Make it so.” “Engage.” The four lights. The Inner Light. Across seven seasons, four films, and the later Star Trek: Picard, he made an ideal of enlightened command feel human and attainable. Parallel to that, as Professor Charles Xavier he gave another generation a teacher-leader defined by the same qualities (morality, kindness, sensitivity, compassion), the very traits he said he admired in both characters.
Offscreen he used the same voice for causes rooted in his own history: domestic-violence survivors, refugees, veterans’ mental health, animal welfare (especially the pit bulls he fostered). He once said that how one lives is as important as what one does. He lived that sentence.
In his memoir Making It So he wrote of Picard and himself: “Like me, Jean-Luc has lived an unusual life that has taken him far beyond the bounds of normal human experience. But he is also someone who has remained true to his earthbound roots, for they are what gave him his identity. In the end, he feels the call of home, as do I.”
The call came. The ship has sailed. What remains is the voice (resonant, precise, capable of both thunder and gentleness) and the example of a man who treated command, art, and ordinary decency as inseparable duties.
Engage. Make it so. The tide is still rising.

Hello from Vail, Colorado!
It’s time to announce when we’re flying back home to Germany. November 8th, next Sunday, will be the end of our USA trip.
That means this weekend will be our last full weekend in the States and we want to make the most of it!
We’ll be in the Denver/Boulder area, and there are quite a few sporting events to choose from. CU Boulder plays Kansas State on Saturday, the Colorado Avalanche have a game that evening and the Broncos play the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
So we still have the chance to experience both an NHL and NFL game on this trip.
And since it’s Halloween weekend, we also want to visit a haunted house, check out a pumpkin patch and walk through some neighborhoods to see all the decorated houses.
Could be a really fun last full weekend in America! We’d love to hear your suggestions on what we should do and which of these experiences you think we shouldn’t miss!
