Men vad hÀnde?

Konstant.

Samma sak i đŸ‡©đŸ‡Ș 1/2

This is much bigger news than it appears. Every single component in Huawei Mate 70 is "Made in China". This will change the world. Almost every non-Chinese consumer electronics company is now living on borrowed time. Are there at least 10 ppl who'd like to hear the reasoning?

This is SU7, Xiaomi's first-ever car/EV. It is cheap & has some minor issues, but reviews are glowing. Launched in Apr, it sold out the entire 2024 production capacity in 24h. In its first half a year, it outperformed annual sales of Jaguar. 1/2

In a few years, Xiaomi EVs will land in EU. Gonna be interesting times for EU:s carmakers. Hopefully, it will be different than it was for EU:s *many* phone manufacturers. Nokia, SonyEricsson, Siemens, Sagem, Alcatel, Grundig, Benefon, Neonode, Philips, Thomson & others. 2/2

#2 (see quoted tweet) has proven to be very successful for China. Huawei Mate 70, a flagship, has 100% China-sourced components. This is not possible in EU and North America combined. China is now THE DOMINANT player in smartphones. huaweicentral.com/huawei-mat

What was the Chinese playbook for smartphones? It was a collection of factors, most notably: 1. Large covert govt subsidies. 2. Drive for local supply chain. 3. IP theft on industrial scale. 4. Protectionism in the local market. 10/x

Smartphones are MUCH more advanced that other consumer electronics. Dominance in smartphones will quickly downstream to MOST other consumer electronics. China is now in a superstrong position to become dominant in everything from fridges and TVs to security cameras and networks

China dominates industry after industry. Let’s talk about how that is done. This is not the full story, but it is a very important story. I will use the term "China" because Chinese government is highly involved in making Chinese manufacturers dominant. đŸ§”, obviously. 1/x

Smartphone market of 2010 is mostly a graveyard (e.g. Nokia, SonyEricsson, LG, Palm, Blackberry/RIM), coma-patients (e.g. Sony, HTC, Panasonic) or Chinese-owned companies (Motorola). This pattern is repeating in many other industries. Automotive being the most visible. 16/16

I noticed some spelling errors, e.g. "sore" (I meant "soar"). I'll leave the thread as it is, since I have no smooth way to edit the tweets.

This writeup will most likely offer new insights. If possible, I would appreciate some feedback and criticism. Especially from people who routinely do amazing write-ups, e.g. @paulg, @levelsio, @Snaljapen, @PGWahlen and @Aktiediplomaten.
