A 17-year-old Moroccan unaccompanied minor was arrested after targeting elderly people in FIVE violent robberies in Majadahonda near Madrid.
He deliberately selected vulnerable elderly victims, following them to apartment entrances or underground car parks, and violently robbing them.
In one recorded attack, he followed an elderly couple into their building, pulled the woman to the floor and snatched her handbag as her husband tried to defend her with his walking stick.
Investigators say the robber sometimes attacked victims from behind and used a chokehold to prevent them from resisting while stealing jewelry, mobile phones and other valuables. The investigation began after the first reported robbery on May 3, and authorities have linked the teenager to five counts of robbery with violence and intimidation.
Reports identify him as a 17-year-old Moroccan unaccompanied minor who had absconded from youth centers and had previous records for similar offenses.
