They shouldn't call him the name they gave him? Many moves the family has made that doesn't make sense but this isn't one.

I dislike family feud with all my being. There is no victory to be achieved fighting a family member

The yoruba culture is getting eroded..The term "Oku ofo" is used to describe unfortunate and untimely death like that of Toluwanisings. In an ideal Yoruba setting the guy should have been buried immediately or day after but what do we have? families granting interviews. I'm pissed!

Legally speaking, it is a crime to bury someone in a residential building or area without the consent of the Governor of the state. All dead bodies are expected to be buried in a public or privately approved cemeteries. The jurisprudence of this law is due to public health and environmental hazard; decomposing fluids from the graves or improper home burials can seep into the water table, risking the contamination of local hand-dug wells and boreholes.
The issue here requires state’s intervention. It is rather unfortunate that the family is unable to agree on this and it shows there was never unity in the family in the first place.
My son’s wife is refusing to allow us bury him in his house. She wants cemetery — Dad of late gospel musician, ToluwaniSings
The father of late singer Toluwani Sings, Muniru Adekunle Olayemi, has appealed to his son’s wife to allow him to bury him in his house or family compound, insisting that he does not want his son buried in a church or cemetery.
Toluwani d+ed on October 14, 2026, and his burial arrangements have reportedly sparked a disagreement between his father and his wife.
Speaking in a recent interview, Olayemi explained that he went to see his son’s wife after learning of his de@th online and asked her to allow him to bury Toluwani at home. However, she reportedly refused and insisted that he should be buried in a cemetery.
The grieving father said he would be happy if his son were buried in his house, adding that prayers could be organised there instead of burying him in a church or cemetery.
“I don’t want him buried in a church or cemetery. I want him buried in his house and that will make me happy,” he said.
Olayemi also recounted how his son came to live with his maternal family after the de@th of his mother in 1992, a few months after his birth.
According to him, he brought his wife’s body back from Kano, but her family insisted on seeing her corpse. Afterward, they asked him to leave the child with them so they would not have to endure the pain of losing her while also caring for the baby.
He said the family subsequently took care of Toluwani, explaining that his maternal relatives were Christians, which influenced the religious environment in which he grew up.
The father, however, maintained that his son’s Muslim name was Sodiq Olayemi Bayonle, although he was popularly known as Toluwani Sings.
He also explained that he maintained contact with his son and that his family supported the singer’s education.
Olayemi is now appealing to his son’s wife and everyone involved in the burial arrangements to allow him to fulfil his wish of burying his son at home.
Because a father insist on calling him the name he was given at birth, it automatically means they don’t like his conversion to christianity? How does that make sense to you? My maternal grandmother is a Christian and all her children are Christians except mom but whenever she calls her children, she still use their Arabic names which was their given name at birth; so those that mean she doesn’t love her their conversion to her religion?
Why would you think calling him Sodiq means it is a Muslim thing cuz they don’t like the conversion to christianity?
Nobody is accusing you falsely on anything; it is trend that’s been noticed with you. That was the same way you insisted that Muslims weren’t attacked in the 2018 crossover attack that happened in Ilorin all because you want to push your “Muslims attacked Christians” narrative.
And as to the question you asked: it is one of the hotly debated and polarized issue in Islam.
Pls go to bed. Where have I attacked Islam? Show me. False accusations like this don’t move me but this is the internet, single narratives are dangerous. I said his family did not like his conversion to Christianity based on the way they kept on inisisting his name is Sodiq and you are here clowning on my tweet that I am attacking Islam. Why did your religion prescribe death for people who leave the religion? Your issue is not with me bro.
I don deh find am difficult to differentiate between your real posts and sarcastic posts 😭😭😭
Pity my mental health

I am not disappointed with yours either cuz it is your modus operandi on issues involving Muslims. You are quick to attack their religion whenever issues come up.
If you check the CS of your tweet, someone else called you out for it.
It isn’t too late to have a rethink
It is the way you always try to attack Islam for me though.
I guess when we saw this similar stuff with Mohbad, it was because his family were Muslims too.
Make you deh try deh calm down abeg and I hope you don’t keep Muslim friends with this way you keep attacking people of that religion.

You people will have people in military, police or intelligence and start being reckless up and down.
You don't know how much some of them despise you; they know when you reach out, it's going to be some silly thing. You never reach out to them share good news or money before.
