16/ The Bill breaches Article 6 because the law is now you have to believe in catgender and can be prosecuted if you don't. It breaches Article 7 and basically nothing is defined so you can't as a parent read it across your kitchen table know if you're a criminal

This! I will never understand how the therapy that involves medically and surgically altering a teenager’s body to look more like the opposite sex is not the conversion therapy that they want to ban.

It’s not the language which feels off, it’s the simulation of thought
Why exactly is it so obvious when someone is trying to pass off AI writing as their own? There are clear red flags like “quietly” and “load bearing” but there’s also something less tangible in the rhythm and construction that screams AI but is hard to precisely describe. I can tell when something is AI slop but I can’t always tell how I can tell.

A quick update on the Conversion Practices Consultation Forum held by the Society for Existential Analysis last night. It was the first meeting that I have ever attended whereby those of us who are against Queer ideology and understand humans can't change sex were in the majority. This sounds better than it is though. There were only 11 of us who attended until one had to drop out. Those wedded to Queer ideology were keen to engage in the process and raised points of concern how the documents didn't go far enough. Those of us back in reality argued that, amongst other things, it was a child protection disaster and the SEA should not be endorsing it at all. The Chair said he was going to put all the points of view into a report and submit it, even though it represented conflicting points of view. So yet another child protection failure. Leaders of these organisations must understand that when it comes to child protection they cannot take the 'both sides' position.

A few days late for International Pronouns Day, here is my pronoun piece from last year. About how to write to organisations who suggest you show your allegiance to one side of a contentious argument. aletheia70.substack.com/p/ta…

The blurring of the distinctions between male and female and man and machine are both simply the latest consequences of an anti-teleological philosophy of nature that has deceptively cloaked itself in the mantle of science since early modernity. More here: claremontreviewofbooks.com/g…

Thank you Hannah. Great article. I followed the ET with @tribunaltweets I’m curious how Cass reconciles her criticism of this debacle while supervising a government PB trial with young children who’ve been given vouchers as rewards for taking part?

Lots of people embody masculine and feminine qualities because we have moved on from gender stereotypes.

If you read this essay carefully, you'll see that his so-called gender dysphoria and body dysmorphia are names he gives to feelings of shame. Shame about feeling like a weird outsider due to his autism and shame instilled by his religion over normal adolescent sexual urges (probably reinforced by cultural messaging around "toxic masculinity"). We need to lose these concretized diagnostic labels and talk about how feelings of shame and a sense of being damaged, or different in a bad way, can drive the wish to transition. That's actually the topic of my presentation at the upcoming @segm_ebm conference in Washington DC. dispatchesfromtheautismwars.…

Absolutely this 👇. Why do people who wouldn’t dream of making any other sort of divisive declaration in an email, think pronouns are simply inclusive. Spoiler: they are not thinking. They mean well, but so often have not thought. This is *always* worth questioning.
The same should apply to pronouns in emails. I apply this prohibition to myself. It’s tempting to have a gender critical email signature, but I am able to see that doing this risks alienating the recipient. If they are a student, that’s out of order. 1/2 telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/10…

Replying to @Gaynotqueer1
When did protecting one person's dignity require sacrificing another's dignity? Thanks for asking. When transvestite men demanded the NHS place them with women, and cross dressing became a fun option for sexual predators.

We have now written an open letter to the Bridget Phillipson regarding the misinformation that appeared in her article on the conversion practices bill this weekend. This level of nonsense in public debates is getting ridiculous and it is time she and her officials sorted it.
1/ We’ve written to the Secretary of State for Equalities concerning misinformation that appeared in an article she wrote over the weekend. It’s important that the debate around the draft conversion bill is accurate and the Minister should promote this. gaymensnetwork.co.uk/letters

Can’t help thinking this whole thing could have been avoided if the headmaster had just bought those kids a pencil sharpener when they asked.

About to start talking about the Conversion Practices Bill - but not so much a #BattleofIdeas I suspect. If anyone in this room thinks the Bill is a good idea I hope they will explain why!

Lunch listening to Burnham's gaseous Scottish 'reindustralization' speech. UK industries closing due to soaring energy costs and young workers can't afford rent, but Burnham drones on about devolution, as if his government's current policies have nothing to contribute and/

It's very important, when protesting against capitalism, to loot shops selling designer clothes. I wonder if Macron is planning on actually saying anything?

There’s a mighty lot of waffling, wombling and obfuscating in this parliamentary discussion of the Fonagy review, but it’s an informative watch for those who are interested in mental health reform. Concerning to see schools increasingly positioned as therapy centres rather than sites of knowledge production. It seems that education is to become an extension of the health service, and some MPs were keen to learn how the therapeutic ethos could be imported to the workplace too! parliamentlive.tv/event/inde…

This is the key point. The space that children/teens were previously granted to explore themselves in an unpressured manner has been removed by adults. This has been devastating esp for those children who don't naturally "fit in". Children need our protection from those adults who colonise their developmental space.
Some of the kids who seek refuge in trans identification are just quirky, offbeat types who come to focus on feeling that they do not fit in. They are often "creatives" who take naturally to the project of redesigning the way they present themselves. Please remember them too.

This was the section in the 2015 film where it was clear a feminine boy was being gaslit by his mum who insists on calling him 'she'. Theroux later questions whether Coll "had ever been trans". Unfortunately, his 2020 follow-up bought trans ideology hook, line and sinker.

In the end the fresh legal advice did not result in changes to the new Definition of Transphobia. Perhaps even the @libdems decided that altering their constitution to insist members must believe in the ability of humans to change sex might damage their electoral prospects.
