Jesus wept. Several people in my extended family (living in Derry City and abroad) have taken their own lives, all of them men. McClean is fast falling off a cliff.

Comments off. In #TCD they were toasting the British monarchy & playing 'God Save the King' into the 1940s. The inability of @OrangeOrder to accept that they cannot march wherever they want illustrates their colonial mindset. There is no viable future for such organisations here.
“Some of our main problems now is with the middle class who believe they own the Ormeau,” says Noel Liggett, District Master of Ballynafeigh Loyal Orange Lodge, No 10, whose Orange Hall stands on the Ormeau Road. “If you drive down the Ormeau Road in a bit of sunshine, you’ll see the coffee shops, all the guys sitting sipping their coffees. The older Prods will be down the side street, not really taking part. They look on us with contempt.” Read the full interview here: irishtimes.com/ireland/2026/…

Be it club Gaelic football or LOI association football, Irish folk should be following their local clubs and not those that exist in other countries, who have enough people to keep them going.

Since the 2020 general election, the political establishment mandarins went into overdrive to create a 'republicans under the bed' scare, despite the wishes of electorate. It continues to this day. The days of FFG running the 26 counties are, thankfully, coming to an end.
Surely a record low in the combined support (30%) for the two once-dominant parties, whose combined vote as recently as 2007 was close to 70%. That + a Taoiseach from a party polling 15% =crisis of representation

These are the armoured vehicles that @defenceforces want to purchase.
Voilà où nous en sommes. Le pouvoir préfère se barricader derrière des véhicules blindés plutôt que d’écouter les revendications légitimes des citoyens.

The clocks haven't even gone back yet in England, not wearing a poppy in October is a hanging offence.
Every year the propaganda around the poppy becomes more and more ridiculous. Having nothing to do with the fallen or those injured in war, but instead a massive warmongering campaign by the people who profit from war or use it without taking any risks themselves.

Oradour sur Glane, Maillé, Lidice and countless villages across Belarus and other European countries, all destroyed by the German military during WW2, many due to reprisals for 'terrorist' activity. And now these Israeli zionists too ...

Jesus wept. @Translink_NI could only spare one train set to cater for DCFC supporters. Even additional capacity to Belfast for the Enterprise would also have been an option. Like, it is a Sunday, so the capacity should be available. @wandererphotos @IrishRail
With over 25,000 tickets sold between both sides for the Cup Final, we have put together a list of the some of the bus and train options. If you are running a bus to the Final, please let us know and we are happy to add your contact details to the list! derrycityfc.net/2026/10/tran…

This really is quite the riposte, @HMcEntee.
⚡️ Statement by the Embassy of Russia in Ireland (October 23, 2026) The much-publicised discussion in Ireland of the issues with the “Triple Lock” legislation and Irish neutrality includes continuing references to Russia made by the leaders of the Irish government, which contain unfounded allegations, as well as misrepresentation of the way the UN Peacekeeping mechanism works. In the course of the debate in the Dáil on October 21, Helen McEntee, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Defence, strongly objected to the current “Triple Lock” legislation on the grounds that it presumably allows Russia, as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, “to have a say over which peacekeeping missions we can send our troops to”, or even to veto Irish participation in such missions, and that ostensibly does not sit well with the Minister who believes that Russia is “attacking European member-states, including Germany, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Poland”. We strongly believe that any decisions on the matters of neutrality or any other policy matters are sovereign issues to be discussed and decided solely by the Irish government and the Irish people. At the same time, it is obvious that such decisions – whatever they are – should not be made under false assumptions, which is exactly the case with the Minister’s statements. Contrary to her assertions, the UN Security Council does not vote on what countries take part in a peacekeeping mission – its composition is agreed in the course of multilateral consultations conducted by the UN Secretariat and the interested UN member-countries. Also, there is no known record of Russia being against Ireland’s participation in any UN peacekeeping mission. Consequently, the allegations by Minister McEntee are reprehensible and misleading, grossly distorting the substance and the meaning of procedures provided by the UN Charter. ❗️In the same manner, the Minister’s speculations over Russia’s “attacks” on the EU countries are totally baseless, dangerously provocative and unacceptable. This kind of rhetoric is unthinkable for any responsible member of a government. It is regrettable that the Irish government has chosen to deliberately question the workings of the UN – despite its much-advertised commitment to the central role of the UN in the international order – with the aim to promote domestic policy agenda. It is also incumbent upon Irish leadership to realise that exercises in Russophobia cannot make up for a serious failure in its approach to relations with Russia and issues of peace and stability in Europe.

I was living in Dublin in 2012 and saw him make his debut. Michael has been one of the greatest players to wear the #DCFC jersey. But how many more seasons he can play, only he knows. It has been a joy to watch him (even when he wore the white of @DundalkFC). #RAWA

People who normally vote @fiannafailparty or @FineGael need to understand that their sons and daughters will soon be dying for @NATO.
Let the people decide. Tonight, the Government has voted to drive through legislation to dismantle the Triple Lock. This is a fundamental change to Ireland’s neutrality. The Government has no mandate to make this decision on behalf of the Irish people. This must be put to a referendum.
