Leclerc was starting on new tires while Hamilton was on used soft . If you really cared about securing a Ferrari 1-2 why would you think it was Hamilton who should be first after lap 1? Surely it made more strategic sense to let Leclerc take full advantage of the better rubber

MotoGP is saying a sad farewell to its greatest circuit - Phillip Island 😢 Renowned for creating the closest racing in the series’ history, the venue is being ditched in favour of a more commercially friendly street race in the centre of Adelaide. Will you miss Phillip Island? 🤔 ✍️ @matoxley For Mat’s full piece, head to our website via the link below: motorsportmagazine.com/artic…

They finally figured out the sailboats and the “no rules” track cars for billionaire collectors bit?
🚨BREAKING | The FIA Separates F1 Teams From Other Projects to Ban Information Sharing: — The FIA has introduced new rules to separate F1 teams from other corporate activities, prohibiting links between team personnel and staff dedicated to other projects. This aims to enforce the budget cap and prevent the misuse of corporate resources. — The new regulations require physical and IT separation between F1 and non-F1 activities, preventing the transfer of know-how between different business units. This change could lead to increased operating costs for manufacturers. — The regulations stipulate that personnel cannot move directly from F1 to other sectors without a new contract. Additionally, those working on non-F1 programs will have to undergo a three-month “gardening leave” period before becoming active in other corporate activities. — The FIA’s decision to implement strict separation could turn F1 teams into isolated entities within their companies, limiting synergies and increasing the need for external personnel for non-F1 projects. — The new rules could negatively affect peripheral projects, forcing them to abandon collaborations and opportunities for synergy with F1 teams. This could lead to an overall increase in staffing levels and corporate costs. VIA: [motorsport IT]

Tesla Roadster could be 5 s faster than F1 at COTA. I simulated a lap with the revealed specs: 1:27.9 vs Verstappen's 2025 pole at 1:32.5. Where it wins: acceleration. All-wheel drive, 2 g of fan suction keeping the tyres planted on exits, and cold-gas thrusters. Top speed on the back straight: 374 km/h vs 324. At the end of the lap the temperature in the tank is -150 Deg C. Where F1 wins: braking and the fast corners. An 800 kg car with downforce that grows with speed beats a 2-tonne one. As @elonmusk said the tires are the biggest limiting factor, I assumed quite conservative values taking into account the massive vertical forces that they would have to endure.

Hey #teamLH, all these “Ferrari/Vasseur/Leclerc are racist” posts are an embarrassment, Lewis deserves a better quality of fans.

✱ Sad news with the passing of Sandro Munari, one of rallying’s defining figures. I still recall first hearing - and then seeing - the Lancia Stratos HF with Munari at the wheel in Sutton Park on the 1977 Lombard RAC Rally. It was one of those indelible moments that never leaves you. Grazie per i ricordi, Sandro 🙏
