The 7th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue, themed “Dialogue for a Shared Future,” in Baku
On 22 October, the next round of political consultations was held in Baku between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway.
The Azerbaijani delegation was headed by Fariz Rzayev, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, while the Norwegian delegation was led by Eivind Vad Petersson, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway.
During the consultations, the parties reviewed the current state of political relations between Azerbaijan and Norway and underscored the importance of maintaining sustained bilateral dialogue.
The discussions focused on opportunities to expand cooperation in trade and economic relations, humanitarian affairs, science and education. The parties also exchanged views on prospects for cooperation within the framework of strategic energy and transport projects implemented at Azerbaijan’s initiative and with its participation.
The importance of expanding the treaty-legal basis was also emphasized. The parties discussed cooperation within international organizations, as well as mutual support for candidacies.
The sides exchanged views on the current regional situation, ongoing work on Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process and large-scale restoration, reconstruction and demining activities underway in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories.
The consultations also provided an opportunity to exchange views on other regional and international issues of mutual interest.

The successful conclusion of the 7th CICA Summit in Baku, #Azerbaijan 🇦🇿 marks an important milestone in advancing regional dialogue, mutual trust and cooperation across Asia.
Key outcomes:
✅ Adoption of the Baku Declaration and Statement on Occupational Safety and Health;
✅ Lao PDR’s full CICA membership;
✅ Extension of Azerbaijan’s Chairmanship for 2026–2028, in recognition of its effective leadership;
✅ Appointment of Ambassador Sultan Hajiyev as CICA Secretary General for 2026–2030;
✅ Cambodia’s ratification completing the process for the entry into force of the Convention on the Privileges and Immunities of the CICA Secretariat;

Today, a father and his son have been severely maimed in landmine explosion in Jabrayil district, bringing the number of landmine victims in #Azerbaijan to 4️⃣4️⃣3️⃣ since the end of the 2020-war.
This horrific incident once again demonstrates the deadly and indiscriminate threat posed by landmines, which continue to claim innocent lives and inflict devastating injuries.
Azerbaijan strongly condemns the continued danger posed by landmines and calls for greater international attention for mine action in Azerbaijan.
