Cloudflare is quietly having a monster year. The # of new sites sitting behind $NET in Q3: +66% YoY. AI agents flooding the web + exponential increase in security holes (see today's PHP exploit) is pushing everyone behind Cloudflare’s web firewall

$DOCN seems to be transitioning from renting powerful GPU servers to running giant 72-GPU $NVDA AI “supercomputer” racks with next-gen Vera Rubin systems on the roadmap. They’re hiring a principal engineer to start that transition

Is Cloudflare $NET preparing to take its AI infrastructure hyperscale? It’s hiring a “Data Center Site Selection – Hyperscale” manager to secure “megawatt-scale sites” with “high-density/liquid-cooling” constraints. They notably say ordinary rack-level colo exp. do not qualify

Some excerpts from the $NET job that suggest this could be a significant build up (not just adding more GPUs to edge) • MW-scale sites • high-density/liquid-cooling • Dedicated halls/buildings • Powered shells, build-to-suits & JVs • Utility, substation & interconnection work Whether this is about landing $AKAM like AI infrastructure deals or simply taking Workers AI to a much larger scale, who knows?

Meanwhile, total job postings in $NET have rebounded a bit since it dipped earlier this year, when they announced layoff plans. Total job postings are still down -15% from a year ago Disclosure: I am long $NET

AI is creating a boom in a less obvious category: observability. Job postings mentioning “observability” are up 85% YoY - even faster than AI itself. As LLMs move into production, there’s a lot more to monitor. $DDOG $DT Among all observability job postings, mentions of AI related technologies have increased: • LLM: 9% → 21% • RAG: 6% → 16% • Agentic: 8% → 25% All in roughly the last year. All growing faster than job postings mentioning LLM or RAG or agentic alone. So who is actually gaining share in the AI/LLM observability space? 👇(1/2)

Databricks / MLflow stands out: MLflow (part of Databricks) went from 5.3% → 8.9% of observability + LLM job postings over the last 2 years. Among public observability companies, $DDOG went 4.3% → 6.0%, while $DT went 1.4% → 2.4%. $DT is especially interesting because Arize, which it agreed to acquire, shows up in another ~2.1% of these postings today (tho share actually decreased from 2 yrs ago). The private AI tools are growing even quicker: LangSmith 1.8% → 5.2% and Langfuse 1.8% → 4.7%. Elsewhere, $ESTC fell 5.3% → 2.8% $CSCO Splunk fell 4.6% to 4.1%. $PD barely registers, appearing at roughly 0.6% of current LLM + observability postings. My takeaway: Databricks/MLflow has the strongest share and growth so far, while DDOG and DT look like the clearest public observability companies participating in the trend. (2/2)

Across the top 2M websites, the ChatGPT Ads pixel is now being added on more new sites each day than $META, LinkedIn, $RDDT and $SNAP combined The pace has accelerated since the start of Sep. and the # of total sites using ChatGPT Ads is on pace to double vs. a month ago (1/3)

If we assume digital ad budgets are zero-sum, $RDDT may be the most negatively exposed. Nearly 1 in 10 Reddit advertisers in my dataset already use ChatGPT Ads, more than 2x the rate for $AMZN, X or TikTok. Just 2.5% of $GOOG and 1.4% of $META advertisers are using ChatGPT Ads (2/3)

This isn’t just a natural result of Redit advertiser base being smaller than the others. ChatGPT Ads adoption is simply disproportionately concentrated among $RDDT advertisers. ChatGPT Ads adopters are 7.3x more likely to also use Reddit Ads than other digital advertisers. That’s far above $AMZN at 3.2x, X at 3.0x, TikTok at 2.9x, LinkedIn at 2.1x, $GOOG at 1.8x and $META at ~1.0x

$SNOW continues to lose market share, and it's not just Databricks they need to worry about. While the entire market is growing based on hiring demand, the number of companies mentioning $MSFT Fabric jumped the most at +165%. Databricks grew +40%, while both $SNOW and $GOOG BigQuery increased the least at +15% from a year ago.

$NET continues to be one of the biggest beneficiaries of AI. The # of new Zero Trust instances (CloudFlare Access) in the past 3 months is up 86% YoY as companies are scrambling to protect their AI agents, MCP servers, and applications (Source: Bloomberry)

Meanwhile, the # of websites that are using $NET as a CDN has also surged, as the need to protect their data/content from AI agents and bots keeps rising. The # of new websites using Cloudflare in the past 3 months is up 57% from the same period a year ago

For the 1st time, Anthropic has *more* engineering jobs than OpenAI. The # of engineering jobs in Anthropic has tripled from the same period last yr (~flat for OpenAI). At the same time, OpenAI's engineering mix is shrinking (28% of jobs) while Anthropic's is growing (38%)

OpenAI isn't just losing ground to Gemini - it's losing developers to Claude, and *fast*. Since January, Claude Code installs are up 33% in Visual Studio, while OpenAI Codex is down 10%. Another code red for OpenAI?

$AMZN laid off 30K workers. They claim it's due to AI. But is that the entire story? I dug into every job posting from $AMAZN since 2020, and the % of jobs that were located in off-shored countries almost tripled since 2020 (going from 10% to almost 30%)
