NEW POEM — "Out of Control". This is actually a major reworking, rewriting, and enlarging of a poem I first wrote back in 1995. #poem #poetry @ProfeSteve1701 @axelkallesoe @EveLovestar

More fantasy books I've read: The Castle of Dark by Lee; The Eyes of the Dragon by King; The Dragonbone Chair, Stone of Farewell, and To Green Angel Tower by Williams; The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath by Lovecraft (yes, I consider than one fantasy).
Some fantasy books I've read: LotR, The Hobbit, The Silmarillion, Smith of Wootton Major and Farmer Giles of Ham, Unfinished Tales by Tolkien; A Wizard of Earthsea, The Tombs of Atuan, and The Farthest Shore by Le Guin; The King of Elfland's Daughter by Dunsany.

>"hp has been part of my life since they came out when i was little. i think they are an essential read at least once."< Maybe not THAT essential... I've never read the Harry Potter books, have no intention of ever doing so, yet I'm a published fantasy poet, writer, and artist.

and disclaimer here: hp has been part of my life since they came out when i was little. i think they are an essential read at least once. i have narrated all the books to multiple children in my life.

Re-sharing an oldie-but-goodie: "River of Life". This work, written 1993, was never published in a small-press zine; it appeared in one of those dubious contest-related anthos, under my previous surname. I no longer count that appearance among my legitimate publication credits.

Worst alum of my school... The worst alum of the State University of New York at Albany might be Philip Markoff, the so-called "Craigslist Killer". en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o… No, I did not know that off the top of my head; I looked it up.

Film you’ve watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Star Trek, Star Wars, LOTR, Marvel, Disney, or Ghibli.

It's the differing treatments of said IPs.
Not enough conversation on how a 72 year old IP is thriving like this, and Star Wars is currently a mess

It's very much an allegory.
Reminder that the original 1954 GODZILLA by Ishirō Honda wasn't a popcorn action flick; it was a dark, melancholy anti-war masterpiece.

My "attorney" graduated law school with a JD and passed the bar, so she's most definitely an attorney sans quotation marks.

"All I have to do is make one small change and your copyright is invalid." My intellectual property rights attorney laughed out loud when I read this comment to her. I suggest you consult an intellectual property rights attorney. You may be surprised by what they tell you.

My intellectual property rights attorney laughs at such people and their absurd statements regarding intellectual property rights.
Have these folks never heard of contracts? Contract work I've entered into was always quite clear regarding which rights I retained and which I did not. I only ever signed away my rights under very specific circumstances (like when I did shop sign illos for a publisher).

I just saw one of those ugly monstrosities earlier today. I was walking up the sidewalk along Hoosick and it was driving down the street. I couldn't help but to laugh at it, and that was before I saw THIS news! wired.com/story/rip-cybertru… Good riddance to bad rubbish!

Re-posting to boost the signal for my latest poetic creation, in case you missed it...

@ProfeSteve1701 did it again! He, and a recent prompt term, inspired me! Here's my poem "Other Ghouls" based on the prompt term #ghoul and the idea that not all ghouls are supernatural humanoid monsters, some are very human indeed (albeit monstrous ones nevertheless).

The AI pushers and propagandists are suddenly scared shitless and their hysterical panic is producing quite the popcorn moment on this platform.

Based on the number of AI bots suddenly and vociferously attacking the idea of reigning in the continued impetuous development of AI, it's clear that the tech bros unleashing these bots are worried over recent events. LET 'EM WORRY! I hope they're shitting their pants in fear!
